Depends on what kind of tourney. They're good for any kind of tourney, but so is a spyder for that matter.
My friend's never had a problem with his bushy. It's got a field strip pin in it, so it's a snap to clean. However, I've heard if you don't put it back just perfect while it's gassed up, you can shatter the ram and screw up your LPR, so he always degasses his. (the last statement may not be ture, notice the 'I've heard...' part)

a spyder is not good for a tourney they do not shoot as fast as 13 balls per second and i have its good but not good enough for tourneys.

I love Bushys, but they have not always been the most reliable gun out there. I have heard of Bushys comming from the factory with broken gauges, bad wiring, and broken rams. My teamate bought one, and everytime he gasses it up the gauge goes up to its highest psi and stays there!!!!! He sent it to get repaired for free and the people at ICD are great guys but it still does it sometimes. It does not mess up with the performince of the gun though, and he owns with it.

Any gun is good enough for tournies, its usually player skill that is lacking.

That was what I was trying to get across. You just use an example and everyone's like "n0, j00 h4v3 t0 h4v3 t3h l337 gu/\/5 t0 p14y 1n t3h t0urn3y5, th47 0n3 r sux!!!".

Want to bet? I guess one of the guns you thought wouldn't be good enough for a tourney would be something BE, like a talon? Well, here's a little story:
<----->
We were at a local field, which held tournies about twice a year, to make some money. It was the worst field I've ever played on, they had crappy paint prices, crappy paint, and so many other bad things. Everyone there was complete newbs, and the "good" guns were M98's. One tourney, a big local team showed up. They had 3 Angels and two very nice 'cockers. Needless to say, they whooped everyone there, and it wasn't the guns: they were good players.
Anyways, back with the story. "The Team" was playing another team, who all had stingrays and talons. With aobut 5mins left in the game, it was 5 from the good team, versus one person from the bad team. The only problem was, they had lost track of the last player, and didn't know where he was. As they started to advance up the field, the last player emerged from the bushes behind the team, and eliminated them all with his talon (by barrel tagging them). He had crawled up the tape, and single handedly took out the best team in our area (most of them had NPPL experience).
When the game was over, everyone from the good team was cussing, throwing there guns, yelling, and generally being jerks. They really showed their true colors after they had lost. Anyways, they went on to max all their other games. When they played the team that had beaten them again, they bunkered the kid with the talon, shooting him SEVENTEEN (yes, 17) times, with the ref screaming at him to stop. From that day, the team has been banned from every playing field in the area, and they have to drive at least two hours to play on a 'real' field.
<------>
Uhm, ok, that last paragraph had nothing to do with this story, but I added it because...I felt like it! Too many people think "wow, I can't beat them, they have a(n) [insert gun here]!" Just remember though, they put their pants on just like you, so there's no reason for you to NOT beat them.

I've got an upgraded compact. New barrel, bolt, expansion chamber, drop forward, nitro, barrel whatever. I wouldnt use it in any tourneys

Of course you wouldn't use it any tourney, that would be silly since you have a timmy (I think...). However, if that compact was all you had, are you saying you just wouldn't play? I know I sure wouldn't.
It also depends on what kind of tourney it is. If it's a local tourney, no league, etc., then about anything will do. I see quite a few kids with low-end spyders, stingrays, etc. at our local tourneys. However, if you're going to a NPPL tourney, you wouldn't be seeing those (although I'd rather face a crappy player with an angel than a good with a spyder).
And even if your gun isn't considered up to par with the standard for that type, you can still use it. Show me a document that says "you must have a gun that is capable of firing at least 13BPS to enter this tourney", and then your argument will be correct.
