Yeah, i agree, most websites also say that 13+ is where you should begin, younger than that and it might hurt too much and they may quit.

on my local field i went up one day to put a downpayment on my eLCD and there was a birthday party with 6 year olds!!! As long as you can follow the rules (Mask on at all time, barrell plugs, ask them to surrender if your really close) then i dont see a reason not for little kids to play.

I think you should be atleast in your teens to paintball. It's a serious sport, and you need to be mature enough to understand the safety risks and stuff. But I don't think there should be a maximum age or anything, I wasn't sure if that's what you meant when you said 13-16 or whatever.

Old enough to hold a gun, and mature enough to follow the rules. Safety is always paramount, but if they fully understand and obey the rules, LET 'EM PLAY!
Plus, little people make good target practice. :D

Totally agree except for the target practice.

As long as you understand the safety rules and are mature enough to respect them you can play. I know some people in their 20s that shoulf not be allowed near a paintball marker. I also know som 12 year olds who have bunkered someone twice their age.
So age is just a number...

i think you should be 7 and up, because lower, is just too young

also size should be considered. I have an eight year old cousin who dosn't weigh 60 lb.'s. He is also really short and small. He could pass for a second grader.
I think if you 10 or up.

I think that you can be any age you want to play paintball........it is a sport far any age.....I know a 5 year old that snap shoot as long as you hold the tank so she does not fall.

i say 13-16 because the kids are old enough to be responsible, are smart enough not to waste their money on a brass eagle(we hope) and they are still relatively young and can enjoy the sport for couple years befor college if they decide to quit befor college

I think you need to be at least old enough to deal with the rough and tumble aspect. The worst is playing with a little kid whose mommy and daddy spent loads and loads on the angel, angel air, Dye pack, Jersey etc for a 10-12 year old. Of course they get bumped up to advanced and then when you nail em with 4-5 balls that broke and they go off crying to mommy and daddy about the mean man who hurt them.
This personaly happened once and I had to get the owner of the field to explain to them that you play with the big dogs you might get bit.

Any age that you can understand the safety rules and play responsibly. We went against a 12 year old at skyball and it was absolutely insane how his twelve year old with an angel could snapshoot and play front better than 90% of the other guys we'd played against. Boy I wish i started paintball when I was a hyperactive 12 year old

With all these kids maturing at different levels and ages, age hardley has anything to do with it. Its maturity, thats why i think it should be parental dissent.
But I would say the average is around 10 years old.
And was this question on how old to be to play paintball or how old to be to play competivive paintball?
Please make your polls more specific in the future guys..

Ok i have a brother that is 10 years old. I will take him to a rec field anyday. But I won't take him to a field where teams practice and tournaments are held, cause i don't want the guys w/ electros to light him up and make him hate paintball forever because of how much it hurts when you get hit by 20 balls in 1 second.
The difference is tournament/rec. I would take a 10 year old to a rec field, but i would never enter him into a tournament..
Sorry if that didin't make sense to anyone..did in my head :)
