Its very inexspensive! If you do buy it dont use 12 gram cartriges because my friend had a ton of his explode and they dont last for but 2 minutes. the stock barrel sucks but all you need to do is get the brass eagle 12 inch and it will shoot great, also with a co2 tank. My advice is just by a compact they a sweeet for only 20 more dollars.

if you plan on playing paintball for any extended period of time, a brass eagle will not hold up for very long. they are fin if you just got one to play in your back yard, like once a month. but if you are even relativly serious, then GET A SPYDER COMPACT. very good, and very upgradeable, for a very good price :)

*BE crumbles from all the bashing*
I'd love to see a BE rep come read all the bashing threads and see what their response is.

well i guess i'll try to answer this question. Not all of us are rich mofos and can afford good guns.
there isn't that much upgrades out there for the BE stingray. If you want to upgrade your barrel, I would recomend getting the EagleWorks custom 12" barrel, or the SmartParts Progressive. depending on what you can afford, the SP barrel is much better. You should also put some kind of tape on the outside part of the barrel where it connects to the gun. this should help minimize movement because as you probably know by now there only 2 pins that keep the barrel in place, and when it is in place, it's not a snug fit.
you should also upgrade the ball detent. the stock detent is metal. you should upgrade to a acrylic ball detent, this will increase the life of your bolt.
those are the main upgrade you should do to this gun. You can also add a bottom line set up, to make it much more comfortable to hold. to do that you will need to buy several things. you will need a steel braided line, stingray 2 bottom line block, CA to 1/8 NPT reducer, and a 90* elbow to connect your steel braided line to the bottom line block.
you can check out http://www.stinggroup.addr.com, that is a good site for the BE stingray 2.
how do i know this? because i used to have a Stingray 2!! sad but true hey if it wasn't for that gun, i would never have gotten into paintball, so i have to give BE some credit.
I totally agree with Silent Knight, but, I have an excellent gun for you to get. It's called the Trracer S/A. Check out the reviews here to see what people who have it think about it. It's reeeally cheap, and it works great. Click here to check out its specs. Then check out the reviews from this web site.

The best thing is, it works better than a BE, and it's cheaper. I had this gun when I was first starting out, and it never failed me. All you should neeed to do is get a better barrel from Spyder, but even without it it's pretty damn accurate.
Oh yeah,I got my Trracer for 28 bucks on e-BAY brand new, still in package never been used. Im tellin ya, great gun for your money. Look around e-BAY and yahoo! auctions to find the best deal.

Brass Eagle (BR) is not that bad on all products guns yeah cuase they have mega mass production casue there the leader on PB and the more mass production the less quality. SO go for something u dont see much of but u know is a good company like PMI, Tippmen, etc

trust us all. I bought one for my first gun. it was a black one, my friend had and ice, and another friend had a black one. All 3 lasted roughly 1 month. 12g adapter stripped, blew o-rings, loud, ugly, dont spend 70 bucks on this, when you can get a decent spyder for like 90.
I got my Ray'2 from my friend for free, and it sucked. SO, I upgraded using homemade and bought stuff. I added a bottomline form LAPCO, put a sight on it, added a new Spyder barrel, polished the interior, added a revvy, and hooked it up with a double trigger. The next day, I beat all my friends with their Spyders and Pirahnas. So, A Stingray can be a good gun if you want it to be. Why do all that to a Stingray when you can do it to a better gun you ask?? Well, it's all a matter of taste. I think it's cool when I go to a walk on game, everyone see's my tricked out Stingray, and thinks "Pshh, what a hunka-junk. I'll take this guy out easily!!" Then comes game time, Im loaded with purple paint, and Im lookin at the next Barney. Thats one reason why I kept my Stingray. Another reason is because if I need an extra gun, I got one, so if my Spyder Elite breaks or sumthin. Also, I let my friends who don't got a paintball gun use it who are thinking about goin into the game of paintball.
