View Full Version : If you could be fully funded for a conceptual PB marker design..

...What would you come up with? Aside from all the other oddities you see on the various fields you play at and websites you visit. You know, like those tricked out Tippmanns that look like something out of a "Guns and Ammo" or "Soldier of Fortune" magazine. What concept marker or upgrade would you love to design and manufacture with an insane budget? If it were me (come on, you knew I'd have an idea after my monologue)If it were me and I were fully funded by X corporation...I'd design two small/compact akimbo style markers (preferably a .45 in design/style) powered individually by two seperate remote HPA lines. They (two hand held markers) would be fed balls by a vaccume/suction style bottom feed line by residual exended air from under the markers. The source of the feed (balls) would be a small back pack accompanied with the HPA tanks. Kinda like Laura Croft (Tomb Raider) shooting PB's. It sounds silly, but you have to admit it would be fun to lay paint down like a John Woo movie scene. Of course the range would be shorter than the average marker (less than the approx. 150'), but the versitility (able to shoot in two different directions simultainiously) and amount of paint layed down would be doubled. Eh, it's just an idea...what's yours? Other than that, I'm still working on other designs for horizontal feed systems to meet the needs of a hoppers 200 round capacity. I currently own (and personally constructed) a horizontal 30 round zip line fed paintball clip for a 98c. (in the same vein as spring fed clips used in real firearms)

I don't know how, but I would make an electric pgp. With semi, 3 shot burst, 6 shot burst, and full auto! That would be ****** but would be hard to fit all in that little gun. I would still want it to be the same size though. Only problem is it would make the infamous pgp much less reliable.:)

a select fire Thompson SMG w/ working drum magazine...

a drum force feed mag for the 98c....

force feed clips for the 98c....

a warp feed that you had use liek a remote line and just put it in a pack or a secial belt atachment....

a mask w/ a full face shield and a helmet....

a way to make the flatline perfeclty aline on a 98.....

a mobile paintball gattling gun......

and the most inportent.....

a perfeclty round paintball that would stay round in most weather and that is afordable... Aaahh dreams:D

I would make a nanococker with an eclipse electro kit, nanococker is a PGP converted to semi auto due to cocker pneumatics.

Here's my dream setup:

An M16 A2 that takes maybe 50-100 round magazines

A gas-thru trigger frame with a gas-thru drop so I don't need to use bottomline hoses

A deadly accurate barrel, with plenty of inserts to accomodate for all calibers of paint

A new bolt that doesn't exist that somehow spins the ball different (like the Flatline) for more range. However, this bolt will have something special in it to keep it accurate

Ajustable ROF and adjustable range and velocity

A computer/sight that finds a target and tells you the distance and programs that distance automatically so all you have to do is find them on the sight and fire and the paintball knows exactly where to go

Optional anno's as well

Oh yeah...an optional M-203 grenade launcher underneath

Back Man's Dream-

A Pball minigun (aka Hellhound) mounted onto a sliding rail, with 2 warpfeeds mounted into a large ammo box behind it (holding, o, say 10000 rounds). Slide out, unleash hell, slide backinto bunker. Fires say 40 bps, but has unique double triggers and only one barrel firing at a time (minigun) so you can fire twice as fast. The new age!

Definitely a paintball backpack. One half of the pack would be a big HPA tank and the other would be a full case of paint set up to feed my gun. My gun would be a multibarel pimped cocker with stock body with JT two piece barrels and a hinge. Or maybe a stingray...

Trigger with double micro-switches made just for walking, and a select fire board. An RT style valve built into a C&C Dark Angel body. Running at 1psi. Boomstick barrel kit with bore sizes for every .001, and lengths between 8 and 16 inches. Force feeder that takes balls from by back-pack. Max-Flo Remote hpa system. Goggles with thermal sensors and night vision, and lcd display and 2-way radio. All shooting at 50bps.

WOW that would cost a lot!

Too bad atmospheric pressure is somthing like 14 psi. I would invent a pb hud (head up display) like modern fighters use. of course with standard night vision and all the other goodies.

Well I would bust out a variation of the cocker (like the bushmaster!!) that is naturally electronic AND makes use of a more accurate 2 piece flat line system with customizeable bore size. How tight would that be?

I would also make nitrogen tanks that hold nitrogen at like 7000 psi (for paintball use duh) and are digitally regulated like the angel air. The goal would be to store nitrogen twice as space efficiently with little weight impact (excluding the weight of the gas). The digital regulation would be super consistant so over the crono you could get 290, 290, 290, 290, 290, 290, 290...

The thing that probably needs the most improvement is paintball quality. I mean I don't think there's a single brand of paintballs that really is satisfactory. I'm talking incredibly precise radius, great looking fill, and easy to break but not in the gun.

Another one of my projects would be to produce THE LOWEST PRESSURE AUTOCOCKER, E V E R. I'm talking a 50 psi operating pressure or something. If this was possible it would be serious bank because all the tourney players would probably want it.

My last and final idea and last rambling comment would be to improve feed speed. I guess it would be a lot like a 50 volt warp feed (heh).

i'd take RP's 3 barreled crank thing and slap a motor on the crank... make it all a little more compact... and get the motor to make a BWWAAAA!!! noise...muhahaha...

build my pb gun design...

design a cheap barrel that is extremely good...

probably start my own (sub) company...

Hmmmm, I'd make a pump with an electronic valve.

A unique valve design that let out the exact same amount of air each time, making it very consistent. Adjust the dwell setting to adjust velocity, no more spring-tension or choke-styled worries.

Make it an inline tube design, so it's smaller and lighter.
Angel threaded vertical feed. So one can mount on a high rise, low rise, or just screw on a stock class tube.

Have the valve and bolt designed not for low pressure, but efficiency. Making it very efficient, at least 50 shots per 12-gram.

Vertical ASA built in, not screwed onto the grip frame.

A removable breech. Comes stock with autococker threads, but you can mount in a new breech of any threads desired.

Under-barrel pump with a light return spring. Grooved to fit a hand ergonamically.

45-style grip frame, with quick release pins instead of threads and screws. And standard bottom line holes.
Single or double trigger option if wanted. Autotrigger built in.

Comes stock with a Powerlyte Scepter Barrel System.

Wow, some of you would do X corporation proud and possibly set new standards for PB as we know it. I like! and yes, if it were marketed and mass produced, I would probably purchase some of these concept ideas (provided the money wasn't too tight).

it is in the barrel take that crappy tippman flat liner concept to put spinn on the ball for longer distance and make it so you can get it to curve up down and most imprtantly left and right

modifly a .40 magnum to shoot .40 paint .

smallpaint98

I would make a marker that shoots some other shape of paint to attain better accuracy and distance. It would have a 20-40 rd staggered, vert or 45 degree, gravity clip. It would primarily be a woods marker because of the lack of rounds, but it would be very good at one shot one kill. Also this is not a "sniper marker", just an accurate marker.
TonySK stole my other idea for a 98, I have drawn a marker similar to that. I call it the 98SS (Sport Short)

with the flatline, you can shoot right and left. just turn the marker.

What is with these people? Join the NRA if you want to shoot revolvers. Play paintball to shoot paintball guns.

back to the topic of the thread

I just had a stroke of freaking genius, it wouldnt be very expensive either. You know on spyders/pirinhas etc how the bolt is directly connected to the hammer making it very illogical for it to bounce on balls, well what if it was not directly connected, just connected by a spring of some sort, therefore it would not chop a ball, the spring would compress and the bolt would pinch, barely, the ball. This could be designed very easily and it would be emmensley popular, imagine a blowback that WOULD NOT chop a ball, every spyder/etc would have one. Tell me what you think...

Actually, what is with you people? You don't simply join the NRA to shoot revolvers, I think a few of you tend stereotype others when it comes to PB and Firearms. I play paint ball to shoot other people, not just to shoot paintball guns (it's as close to war as I'd like to get, short of actually hurting anyone). Whether it's hunting or football, paintball is just another sport, and every player in that sport has preferences to the equiptment they use, or would like to use. Even if that equiptment doesn't conform to everyones tastes. In case you haven't noticed, Paintball (in it's loosest sense) is a simulation of actual firearm use for combat, how ever you re-arrange the method of play. Whether you play Speedball or Scenario games, the end result is always the same...eliminate the enemy/opposition (for the record, I'd give more credit to someone using a 7 round hand paintball gun in the shape of a 44.mag getting eliminations, than I would another for using an Angel.) But hey, we all have our opinions...

IromKnight

i would argue, but I'm too damn lazy to go thru this again. keep your opinion.

Gravity Slave
11-30-2002, 03:59 PM
yep, I'll keep my opinion and you can take your opinion and...well you know. But in the end, despite the disagreements we have, we're all still on the same side when it comes to paintball, why else do we play?
