Hey, me and some of my friends found a very sweet (texas) place to play paintball. The problem is it's right across the street from a residential neighborhood, in a forest. From the place we want to play you can see the road, and I'm sure that people would be able to hear the gun shots.
What do you guys think? Would it be legal? Would the people accross the streets call the cops? HELP!?

Don't do it. I've played in lots of places I shouldn't have, and you always get caught eventually. I've had owners show up, and the cops one time.
Don't do it. Find some other place.

What did the cops do? Just tell you to stop or what?

Is paintball legal anywhere?
No, i just bought the gun cuz it looks cool :p
Yeah, it is legal to play paintball on your own land as long as it is free from people who are planning on wearing a mask of some sort. Just make sure to get permission from the owner before playing.

Prokchop... actually I while ago I called the police department about this and they said it is illegal to fire the gun outside within city limits. Which makes sense, cause the only field within city limits is indoor and all the outdoor fields are outside the city limits. But I dunno if the cop knew what I was talking about and told me something wrong because I haven't heard anyone get in trouble for just shooting the paintball gun outside.

i dont think it is illegal if it is on private property, but if you are on public land or tresspassing defineatly.
i shoot my gun in my backyard all the time, people shoot bb guns in their backyards all the time. no one is gonna call the cops on me. maybe next time i talk to a police officer i'll ask him.
Fred, i would suggest that you find another place which is farther away and less accessable by the general public simply for safety issues (dont want any kids running by and getting shot in the face)

hey theres a big field across my street its like 200 acres of clear field would i be able to play on it the only thing thats near it is cars
Everything depends on where you live. In some places paintball guns are classified with air guns which are considered firearms. In NY you can not fire a gun within city limits or within 500 feet of an occupied building or dwelling.

In my city it is illegal to fire anything from a BB gun to an psg1 unless it is in a designated area. I shoot my gun in my little backyard anyway though. It's not like i'm vandalizing anything so i feel i'm ok until someone calls the cops.

Thanks for all the help, I think I'll just go there and talk to the people who live near there. Also, I'm thinking of asking the parks and rec department, and ask them what they think.
