Hey guys, wondering how you can tell what paint you should use with your gun/barrel. I just got a M98custom with Lapco Bigshot barrel...
I got some nelspat paintballs to start...I kinda thought they should roll right through the barrel, but they don't. I have to push them through. They will go with only a little coercion...but not freely.
How is this supposed to happen?

Ha Ya Doin?
The way you tell is by goin to lapcopaintball.com. Then look for where it says "paint chart", then look at the bore size of the paint you use and the barrel you have. They should match up. You have the lapco bigshot which is:
Measured Bore - Bore Description
.689 - Medium
Now the paint u should use should match the barrel so u should get:
Paint Brand - Bore Discription - Barrel Bore Size Range
RPS Premium - Medium - .689 - .691
That is just an example though, (im not sure if rps premium is good paint) but you just want to match the bore description of the barrel and the paint like i did, medium size barrel and medium size paint. Now if the paint or barrel (if u have another barrel) isn't on that list, sometimes it will say the bore size of the paint or barrel where you buy it.
And as for the paint rollin through the barrel, I'm not sure about that. I have the M98 custom too. And the paint I use (proball i got it at a paintball store) doesn't roll through my barrel (stock I'm gonna upgrdae it to the J&J ceramic) without me pushing it through either. but the paint still works great with the gun.
hope this helps and if u have any questions (in case this wasnt clear or anything) just ask me
Peace out

here's how you tell if you got good paint/bore match:
1.If the ball rolls out of the barrel, you got too small of a paintball.
2. If you put hte paintball in teh barrel, but turn BLuE trying to blow it out...the paintball is too big
3. if you put hte paintball in the barrel, and it comes out with little resistance, then you have a good paint/bore match.

Yep the Lapco Bigshot and the M98 stock barrel are both medium bore. I shoot PMI Premium through mine and they work great

err for number three on my list, what i meant to say is if you put the paintball in teh barrel, and when you blow into it it comes out with ease, THEN y ou have a good paint/bore match.
