99% of the time, when they sell them in groups of ads (you'll see like 10 of the same listing) they're all brand new, in the box without a scratch.

That's why ebay has all those policies that protect the buyer and seller. If it's not the item described in the ad, then you email the seller and give him/her a chance to redress the situation and if that doesn't work, email ebay themselves. You as a buyer do have rights and are protected.

If your so protected why have a bunch of my firends been screwed then?? All you can do is file a complaint, ebay doesnt give a rip about what happens, they are the 3rd party in the trade, they arent responsable for anything

I seriously doubt that eBay had not addressed your friend's problems, if indeed they had any. I have had over 200 auctions sold or bought and not ONE problem. One of my friend's did have a bad seller but ebay rectified the situation. Just don't buy from people with low amounts of positive feedback.
