Hey guys, just got my gear in the other day, fired the gun today (using Lapco Bigshot and Nelsplat balls). I was kinda unsure if the balls would work though at first, cause some of them wouldn't slide through barrel at all, but for the most part they go through without too much trouble, I shot about 15 and figured my neighbors probably wonder what I'm doing.

Anyways, I'd like to know the consensus on MUST HAVE mods to the custom 98. I like the idea of the drop-forward, just for good balance and all, What else is a must-have? I need to be cost sensitive, so no electric triggers please :).

I appreciate all your input.

You don't want the balls to be able to roll out the barrel. You want them stung enough where they won't roll out, but loose enough were they can be blown out with some force.

Yeah, I saw someoen said that earlier.

The thing is that I tried about 20 balls (rollinginto and blowing out...most blew out someone easy, only one rolled out..and about 3 were persistent...so, it appears that for the most part, they are as they should be. Every now and then one was kinda large.

It is correct that paintballs swell in the cold? If so, I'd better not use these at all in cold.

great mods are a double trigger and rt w/revvie if you catch it's sweet spot

a reason for balls rolling out of the barrel is prob. b/c you don't have your fps set high enough and if i were i would get a regulator and other items to go low pressure.

Id do the trigger modification tlplus84 posted, then buy a revo so u canshot fast as hell Then, id put on an ex chamber or reg, and a drop forward. Id get the reg though, and add an anitsiphon tube in your tank, that will work just as good as an ex chamber. Then, go for a bolt, valve, lp chamber, and spring kit, and uve got urself a lp setup. Thtas for later on though, but right now i think what u really need is to do the trigger thing and the revo, Then work on the other stuff.

Hey, is there a problem with the barrel on guns threading in kinda off center? It appears that my bigshot is pointed a bit left when I put it in...the stock barrel is kinda too short to see if it's doing it also...but I hope it's not the gun that is messed up.

Is this common? I will have to send something back I'm sure...

I will try the bigshot in another gun to see if it's the barrel or my gun.

Otherwise, the gun works great...I'm currenlty setting up my shooting "range" (piece of wood)...so I can test it more.
