Instead of answering the same PM over and over again I'm going to post this and try and answer as many questions as I can.
1. Yes I have one of these. I have the 14" size with all 5 insets.
2. I got mine throught the comapny sales by calling (919)713-4317. I have heard that they are working on getting the Scepter put on the web site but I haven't checked on that one lately. I do know that one of the guys who works for Powerlyte posts at PBNation.com and they have a thread that lists other places you can buy the barrel from.
3. It costs $200 for the entire system (Tip, back, 5 inserts from .684-.692 and incerment in size at .002, with color coding and etched sizing labels). They sell a 3 insert system for $170 and you can also buy different backs for $70 each.
4. How is it different than a Freak? The inserts are longer and the big diference is the Scepter doesn't use O-rings. The tip has a bevel that points out to the edge of the barrel and the inserts have a bevel that points in to the center of the barrel. As you screw the tip in to the back these two bevelled edges slide against each other and the insert is lined up in the center of the barrel.
5. How does it shoot. To be honest it shoots just as well as any other after market barrel with a good paint to bore match. The only real advantage it gives you is it will match almost any paint out there. I thought it out performed the other barrels but then I am biased.
6. Does it shoot well through breaks? The problem I had was when I was shooting with the right insert I didn't have any breaks. So I put in smaller and smaller insets till I did (I went 2 inserts smaller) and then it was chop suey every 3-4 shot and I couldn't get it to clear before breaking another ball.
7. Is it quiet? It sounds like all other barrels as far as I could tell. So its average.
That's all I can tell you guys with out getting to much opinion involved.
This is my opinion portion
Why I chose the Scepter over the freak. I didn't like the idea of the O-rings. It just seems like something that could go wrong, get lost, or break when I needed them the most. I have heard a few bad things about Smart Parts quality control, (Now I know that Smart Parts sells a lot of Freak sets and you only hear about the problem ones, but when spending my money I didn't want to chance it), and I felt like Powerlyte has better work manship and qulatity control. Also after talking to them on the phone I got the feeling that if I should have problem they wouldn't leave me out hanging.
Hope that answers your questions and if not let me know and I will answer them if I can, and if I can't I'll let you know our put it in the "Opinion" section.
