is being a sniper worth all of the research and hiding in the fields that you have to do

I haven't played enough yet to know the answer to that, but I propose you do what I do.
Allow yourself the flexibility of being a sniper by buying a gun that doesn't have a flashy paint job, and a barrel that is more quiet and accurate than your stock barrel. Then you can experiment with sniping when the time calls for it, but you haven't restricted yourself to buying a pumpgun, an expensive closed-bolt semi, or a ridiculously long barrel.
I bought a black 98 custom and a black 12" terminator barrel. This setup, although not the ideal sniper gun, works a lot better for sniping than a pumpgun would work in a firefight. Flexibility is the key.
Also, it's hard to hide behind your average bunker if you have a 20" barrel.

well it depends if you like the thrill of being concealed and watching your victim and his team get confused and scatter when you take out one of there team memebers then yea it is worth it. to me personally its alot of fun being a sniper/stalker because i get to wear the cool ghillie suit and take accurate shots at people and they dont even know where it came from. its basically up to you. try it out first if you like it then get into it.

i have tried sniping before i prefer the adreline rush. i have more fun taking risks in the game. this also allows me to be more flexable on the field.

sniping is for pussies....when u try and "snipe" some one they usually know where u r....u cant be to far away anyways.....the paint wont break...and you can see where the shots r coming from...u wont always get 1 shot kills...snipers r just campers who r afraid to get shot from close range

how long have these so called "snipers" played. most under 1 year. then they realize they should be helping their team and go support the front. go talk to some guys that have been playing for a while about "sniping" they will laugh.
all we are debating here when we make fun of sniping is the word people use to refer to the tactic of ambush and stalking in paintball. If everyone would just accept the fact that when someone says "sniping" and refers it to paintball they mean ambushing or stalking another player waiting for the "perfect shot" if such a thing exists. if everyone could just accept the fact that people who use the term sniping are not refering to shooting a guy from 200 yards away, there will be many less flame wars and these posts would actually be productive instead of what they are right now which is just a bunch of people arguing over a damn word. c'mon you "sniper" haters, chill out. BTW if you "snipers" out there want to produce a worthwile thread refer to this tactic as stalking or ambush or something along those lines so the thick headed few will not flame you and you'll get the answers you're looking for.
