I have had my impulse for about a year now and i just got a job so i want to do some upgrades. I have thought about whether to save up 200 dollars and buy a freak barrel system or buy a LPR kit, delrin bolt, and a new trigger. I would like to add some range to my gun but also help my accuracy, efficiency, and make the velocity pretty constant. Do you guys think i should buy the barrel or the other three upgrads, and what do you think would help me the most. Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Go with the Blade, Delrin bolt, and LPR.. and then save up for a Boomstick/Ultralite. IMO the freak isn't worth it. Get the 2002 two-peice boomsticks; soon they'll sell the front and backs individually. Your don't really need the whole freak kit...

If you are tight on money, then a freak should definately not be your first upgrade ! The progressive is a great stock barrel.
A new blade-style trigger is a must, and affordable at $20 or so, a delrin bolt is efficient and hassle-free, and an lpr or iso mod will definately improve your efficiency even further.
YOu will get more bang for your buck with that option, than going with the freak kit.
Only other thing to consider, since your imp is over a year old (presuming it is pre-13,000) than a aff or vff would be a great substitute for the lpr. Plus it will save you roughly $50.

Go with a freak with one insert. Get the insert for your favorite paint or your feild paint, which ever you use the most. Then get the LPR and the blade. I think that will be around 200 right there. But you definatly don't need the entire freak kit if you aren't traveling to a tournament every other week, and it doesn't sound like you are.

I have the complete Freak, but I prefer to use my progressive barrel, if the balls I'm using matches the barrel. I use Freak as a backup in case I can't get my usual paint. I would go with LPR/Blade trigger before getting a Freak (IF you decide to get a Freak).

I know. I bought into all the hype, it's nice to have the flexibly to use different type of paint, but I shot PMI 90% of time and my stock progessive barrel works better!! So the Freak sits in the bag of tools. Live and Learn.
