The manual says 280 but at that velocity, I find the balls to curve and not as accurate as 250 fps? What do you guys think?

well its physics, of course its gonna go straighter at lower speeds since the air will not have as much affect on its non-aerodynamic shape but also won`t go as far. and at higher speeds the air will affect it, and cause it to curve more since its a ball and not aerodynamic.
happy.

Once you get around 250 you start getting some serious bounces (ouch). 275 to 280 is legal for most fields, safe, and turns out the best all around performance. Dialing down is fine, but experiment so you still geta shot that will break at 100 feet.

I think it sounds like crappy paint.

Good thinking Hick...
Blaze is a little on the small side for a big bored stock CCI barrel. The bigger RPS paints tend to be dead nuts accurate though.

I have to use field paint so my only options are: PMI, Diablo Blaze and Diablo Inferno. So bigger bore paint works better on the Phantom? Is Inferno paint big bore? Thanks.

PMI Premium?
That was my favorite for my Phantom. My Buzzard too. You simply need to do the "ice cream cone" test. A tight fit means better accuracy and gas effeciency.

Infernos are tiny balls, your best bet is going with the pmi premiums. But if you have detent rings i think you should give the inferno a shot, i have used it in other guns and it was dead nuts accurate.

Blaze will fit a .686 boomie fine though. I am selling some for $75 plus shipping (new not used). Pm me if you are interested.

yeah .686 is fricking small. Pmi premiums are like .690

Hmmmm, I think they are PMI Premiums? I doubt it tho since PMI Premiums are big bore right? I put the susposedly PMIs in my Phantom with the smallest detent rings and it STILL rolls out the barrel so probably not huh? Coyote, you're selling a boomstick barrel for the Phantom?
