Weight.
Although the steel ones have a better chance to pass hydro.

Wrapped tanks also have to be hydrostatically tested more frequently than steel tanks.

Thats only if the idiots fill it fast.
When i get my steel filled i have them do it right when i walk in the store, then i "browse" for a while to let it cool, by the time i check outs its dropped 200psi, and i tell them to top it off again.
Steel lasts longer and is safer.

i don't think that's right
"HPA or Nitro has a 3 year limit on them. This covers all the carbon fiber wraped tanks. The new steel tanks that are being used for HPA also have a 3 year limit on them."
i got that quote from http://www.gotchapaintball.com/Online_Catalog/Tanks/tanks.htm
