"The Stingray II Ice Marker, the newest version of the popular Stingray II, is made from the finest, impact-resistant plastic and is virtually indestructible. It weighs 2 lb, 6 oz and can shoot up to four shots per second."
Virtually Indestructible PLASTIC??? Oh please, tell me where I can find some of that!
The mask in that combo pack breaks if you hit the lenses with a feather. If you dry fired at the lenses they would probably break!

Glock hand guns (and the PMI Traccer SA) are made out of a space age plastic. Not indestructable but close (i've used the Traccer SA, feels very strudy, nice gun)... however... I don't think Stingrays are made of that. There's no reason to start a thread just to do more BE bashing by the way, there's plenty of that. I'm sorry it doesn't compare to your awesome Spyder and BE made VL Revvy :D

I have a Brass Eagle TALON that performs almost better then my Spyder Imagine. Brass Eagle "can" be good, but for the most part it's asking for BASHING. Those masks are death traps. You are better off entering a field with a safeway bag over your face then that thing. Thin plastic is more durable.

I agree BE's products aren't up to par with most things, but bashing them in their own forum is just uncalled for. BE Rainmakers are awesome by the way, too bad they no longer around. Glad i got mine already.

Stupid bashers...and the masks are not death traps. I'd like to see an example of a lens breaking after being shot with a paintbal.

Well, i'd never buy or use the BE Delux mask. That thing has a reputation for having brittle lenses and all that. I'd totally buy (and I just may) a BE Maxx Vision mask. It's the same as a V Force Morph (or is it the Shield?) for only 20 bucks! It looks good too and i've heard nothing but good things about it.

V-Force Armour Mask is only 20 dollars and its the same as the v-force sheild/morph just without some options.

Ehh... my brother has an Armor and while it's like the Morph, it's no where near the same. There is a reason why it's only 20 and the Morph is 80. The Armor is also a great mask for the price though I must say. The BE one is closer to the Morph and it's only 20 because it's BE (how sad) and if you're scared of the lenses not being good it can use V Force lenses. :D

You would think BE mask are bad, except that government mandates that they meet minimum safety requirements. So even if they are subpar to other masks, they are still more then safe enough due to government mandates.

The masks BE makes honestly aren't that bad. They do their job, of proctecting a player's face, so I have no complaints. I'd much rather have someone wearing a subpar BE mask than wearing none at all.
As for indestructable stingrays, I really doubt that, but hey everyone exagerates their products when they advertize them. All paintball companies do it, so it's not exactly fair just to target BE for stretching the truth a bit. And like the BE masks, BE guns let a person play paintball. Isn't that what's important? People playing paintball and having fun? Who cares if their gun was thirty bucks and made out of plastic, or if it was $30000.00 and made out of titanium. A paintballer is a paintballer. :)

I couldn't agree more. I went through my BE bashing phase, but it ended pretty fast (thanks to my Rainmaker purchase) and I respect them for what they do for the people who can't afford the better stuff and just want to play. As for their masks... true that they provide protection, but for me and masks i need something comfortable on my face when I play for long periods of time. I can't have itching, chaffing or just something that bothers the crap outta me. It's hard to find a 10-20 dollar mask that can provide that, at least for me. So... if you're gonna spend a lot on something get a pretty nice mask I say. :D

I would love to see a full year of people only using Stingray 2's. I would use it. I loved the gun, I used 1 for 4 years. I wish everyone would just go blow themselves and just leave brass eagle alone. I like their products, and i would buy another stingray 2. I have used other guns for the last 2.75 years, but i still have my stingray.

That's a really bad price for a stingray kit. Nobody wants that deluxe mask, I used to have one. BE shoved it into a tiny box to hide how terrible it is. It felt nasty and clammy to wear it. I got a spectra and that was such a huge improvement.

I remember seeing somewhere on the brasseagle site that one of the 280 view masks were recalled because if it was hit by a paintball the lense would shatter.

I've owned several of the 280 masks and the only lense problem I can report (and I've gone thru several) is the surface coating they use to reduce fogging fragments and flakes off after a season or two. No biggy since you're technically supposed to replace a lense after its been hit even once. Its in the warranties of just about every brand of mask made to do that.
As to indestructible stingrays, that's a claim the older black version can qualify for. Ones produced from about 1998 or earlier. Later ones are not as durable and the various ICE models are terrible. Ironically while production quality of the
Stingrays was going down, the companies profits were going
up enough to buy out JT, make improvements to the Raptor,
and then bring out a slew of new models for BE, JT and VL lines, plus sponsor the road to aruba series.
