Heya-
I have been reading up on Impulses for a long time, and now I am starting to wonder about the effects of Rain on them (or any electronic marker). I live in Seattle, so obviously will be playing in a fair amount of rain. I need your help. Thanks

As long as its not POORING rain, it should be okay. The board has a water proof coating on it. A light sprinkle shouldnt affect it. Thats the same with most electronic markers.
if its raining hard its no fun playing anyways cause the balls hit the rain and curve

the paint is water soluble, and disolve in water. And it isnt unlikely that water will get everywhere. You load your paint and water gets into your hopper, and you'll be getting an insane amount of barrel breaks.
If it's drizzling, then you wont have a problem. If its just wet, you should be fine. But as everyone else said, avoid the downpour.

My advice is to avoid the rain if at all possible. I mean, common sense would say that a light drizzle probably won't have an affect. But I can attest that downpours fry the circuit board.
During the last game of a team practice last month, it started to downpour (it had been drizzling all day). It was pouring so hard that you could hardly see anymore. I stayed in for a few minutes. To make matters worse, I got shot out in the marker with Evil paint. Imagine Evil paint in the rain. Seriously yucky stuff. After that game, I cleaned it quickly, dried it off and packed it in my bag. I went home and the gun sat overnight before I did the in depth cleaning. My gun has been shooting awesome for the last few weeks. But when I went to turn it on, nothing. Green link blinked but marker didn't fire. I sent it back to Smart Parts and the techs said my board was fried.
I have the old board. Maybe the new cricket boards are coated better. But I doubt it. Just to be safe, avoid rain. Trust me, it's not worth frying your board and the aggravation that it brought me.
