View Full Version : Drilling your High rise
Hey everybody, i was wondering if any of you guys have any problems with blow back on your BD's, and was curious if youve considered to have drilled small holes in your vert feed to vent air, and if it helps. Maybe this was posted somewhere before but i didnt find it. I heard Ric Ak-2k help with blowback because of the one way ball travel. I dont have my BD yet but its on the way so im trying to pass the time buy checking posts! pathetic i know! thanks
peace;)

Blowback problems can be solved by changing the valve spring, changing the valve o-rings, polishing the valve pin to prevent binding, and keeping the marker clean. Those items should be done before drilling the vert.

Or just get rid of blowback problems all together and get a forecefed hopper.

Technically you're not fixing the problem by by drilling air vent holes or getting a force fed hopper. Fixing the problem would be tuning the marker so it functions without blowback up the feed tube. Unsure if this is possible, but shortening the time the valve is open would be a start, if it's possible to do this and still maintain a usable velocity.
BTW having a blowback marker does NOT mean you have blowback up the feed tube. Blowback refers to the method the marker recocks. The hammer is "blown back" by the valve. In contast an automag is a blow-forward, and functions exactly opposite (based on my limited understanding of the mag).
