Why is there such tippmann hate? So what If i don't have the 400$ needed to get a low end cocker and a n2 tank? I understand that alot of tippmann kids are noobs, but don't put the gun down. Yeah they're cheap, but they work each time you use them, and I don't have to worry about my timing sliping.

i have a tippmann too. i like my cocker better, but i like my tippmann becuase i can hand it out to someone and not worry about it being destroyed. plus when its pouring rain, i can still play while others are complaining that they dont want there stuff to get wet.

Why do you hate tippmanns? Did you get raped by one? Cuz i don't see anything wrong with them. Sliders aren't bad either. I love sliders and hinges but i can just shoot faster with a hinge so i use it but other ppl shoot faster with sliders or like the feel more so they use them. Just cuz someone uses a slider or a tippy doesn't always mean they are cocker newbies or paintball newbies. Why don't you try to be less of a jerk, it tend to make ppl like you more.

I vote for a Tippmann, and I have used Impulses and Angels and Matrices (plural for Matrix in case yoy get confused) and at the end of the day I still prefer my Tippmann. Here are some common* misconceptions:

1) It's heavy: not really, it weighs a decent amount but if you can't handle a heavier gun then tough, you must be mighty weak or low endurance not to be able to tolerate...6 hours of playing nonstop and I usually don't feel the weight of it, hardin running and everything. That is too opinionated to be a good argument.

2) It's long: sorta, but if you do it right you can tuck in pretty well with it after all, i is a machine-pistol design and that is what they are designed to do, almost as well as some of the FAR more expensive markers I find.

3) It's ugly: so is my foot but you don't want to be on the receiving end of that...so is my dad's eleven year old Chevy van but 190,000 miles later and a trip down the Alaskan highway and the states to New York it still runs dependably. Looks don't always equal performance.

4) It's a newbie gun: I disagree...I have had mine about a year and a half now and still love it...I don't have to spend hours cleaning it...she loves me as long as I give her an oiling every so often and clean her once about every six months. In my view, that is performance.

* denotes that these are common in my experiences, not neccessarily reflective of the entire population.

I won't comment on any specific Tippmann bashers but one thing to look at is that most of the comments are the weight and length issues with no examples of why they are not benficial and how they were used...perhaps you can say their answer is too weak or perhaps our arguments are too strong, either way it doesn't matter, there has yet to be any real validation thus far against the Tippmann.

As for it being the best woods gun, it can be with proper modifications (predominantly a barrel though I recommend the stock and sight rail if you are willing to adjust a bit, if not, don't bother). But take an anodized Spyder or higher end gun out there and two things are bound to happen from my experiences: A) she is going to be spotted coming from a mile away (not to mention that they way you guys with those markers hold the gun it stands out more so than a standard firing stance) or B) she is going to get some dirt inside and malfunction like a blown fuse box (okay, maybe not a fuse box but it won't be pretty). This is the theory: i you play rough and tough, nothing beats the Tippmann. I have done anything imagineable to that thing and she still works like a dream. Besides, player makes the gun not vice versa.
