I just recieved my New Evil Valve and Respirator (along with BEAUTIFUL black I-Frame, but that get's wrapped up for Xmas) and am installing them right now. If I could just push out that friggin valve... I'll play this weekend, so you'll be hearing soon from me.

Okay, just got my valve in. Let me tell you, it is pretty dang annoying trying to line up the hole for the valve housing. TINY adjustments are need through a VERY small hole to install it. Oh well, onto taking off my Max Flo and Tapeworm to access the LPR...

I just got all of the former put on my gun, just waiting on the electronics now... (got them replaced with something that works)

Let us know how it goes, Alpha. I'm curious to read a review of it.

Well, I was gonna play this weekend with it, but I don't have one of the parts (wasn't mailed with it). It is a silver screw that adjusts the spring to adjust the pressure. When I got it there was not a screw there so whenever i try to use it there is no pressure (as there is no pressure on the spring) and it cannot shoot. At least it doesn't leak...
Cosmetically, it looks very nice. The valve was a byatch to put in though, cause you only have a VERY small screw area to center the valve housing. Oh well.

On a ligher note:
MY HALO CAME IN!!!! BOOYA GRANDMA, BOOYA!!!!
Now it just has to be shipped...

Well, scratch the review for a while, it is POURING here in the Bay Area... and EPBO is sending in the replacement screw for the pressure adjustment with my HALO!!! BOOYA!!! 2 DAY SHIPPING!!! Err, ya...
I did sell my Tippy, mask, barrels and nitro tank for 380 and am buying a Crossfire 68/4500 and a Professional slider for my cocker though...
I'll update as soon as possible.

any news?!

Well, everything is put into my imp, I have shot and tuned it...
Only problem is, it's pouring like a mofo over here.
When shooting to adjust the LPR and the like, I noticed a helluva lot less kick. However, unlike some others, I didn't notice a large reduction in sound. There was a little less noise, but it seemed different rather than just softer.
A word for those installing it: With everything in, turn the LPR ALL THE WAY DOWN. Turn Dwell all the way down, then about 6 or 7 clicks up (depending on what pressure you wanna run). Then increase the pressure until it starts to cycle, the chron and increase to reach the desired pressure and FPS. That way, since the LPR goes above 220, you will not blow your solenoid.
I hope it stops raining so I can play tomorrow...

or put a gauge on the back of the gun

Hey, smart boy...
I may do just that!

ppl ALWAYS ask me what the gauge on the back of my gun is for when i play - sets my impulse out from the rest in a good way, even though it doesnt look that pretty

Oh my Jebus I forgot cosmetics...
The LPR looks stunning. No hoses and crap running everywhere, a nice new gel sticker for ya... Only problem is the gel E on mine faces downwards... WWAAAAHHH!
The valve looks, uhh, nice I guess.

Well hey! I played today (thanks to the rain gods) and I must say, GET EVIL LPRS AND RESPIRATORS RIGHT NOW! I had absolutely no kick, much quieter, and best of all, NO FSDO! I don't know why, but my FSDO was almost totally eliminated (save one instance when I broke for lunch, and an hour later the shot was 50 fps below, when before I had to take off the barrel cause it wouldn't clear it!) so I'm happy!
It did take a while to setup, and it still isn't setup. I found out that it likes to sing at 240-245 PSI, at about 300 FPS. When I had to bring the velocity down, it screwed up my whole setup. If you have any reccomendations, just bring em.
Thanks!

Yeah,
Alpha, I'll be writing a full length review in the next few days if you want to do the same, we could put them together for a mega-review.

Aright. Remember though, my Resp. is still not fully broken in. I was getting like +- 10 on the chrono. However, I am hoping that will change with time and breaking in. I shot about 1000 rounds through it today and am very impressed. You just have to get it in the right zone (Seems very picky) in order to have it working right.

Cool...
Just type up a full review (I dunno, basically just a complete recount of your expierences with it so far) and PM/Email it to me and I'll add it to my massive list of reviews I'm writing all this week.
Check out my thread called "Reviews" in the Impy forum to see all that I'm doing.

Got it.... Thanks.
Should have this stuff out by Friday or so. I know I said tomorrow, but it's ALOT of stuff to do. Plus I have to dub tapes of the scen game for people. Clean all my gear, act in a independant film, work, and sleep... alot to do with little will power.

Mind if I review not only those, but also my own I frame and HALO B? Just to post it on your page? I've got some itchy fingers tonight.

Sure...
Just PM them to me, or you can wait and post them yourself in my thread. I'm also planning on emailing them to Larry at the IOG.

How does the Evil stuff compare to the typical setup of an ND front cap with an ANS Jackhammer?
Dravion
12-30-2002, 08:48 AM
There are posts about the differences. I know they are minute, but I think there are some differences. Just search for respirator. I believe FOM has done most of the prelim testing here, so use search, narrow his name in the upper right, put respirator or evil lpr (both will come up) and search the imp forum. Should find it all then :)

Basically, the Jackhammer and other LPR's allow you to run a lower cocking pressure. There is less kick, noise, etc... but you lose on some efficiency.
cris8762
12-30-2002, 11:05 AM
so you're saying that with the evil lpr you'd probably get better efficiency than with a ND/ANS one?

W/ the Evil Valve and Resp. combo, yes. Because the valve is designed to go with the Resp., which works best at higher pressures, allowing you to turn your dwell down.

The ND cap and ANS Jackhammer does the same thing. The setup allows you to increase the operating pressure to 200 psi and up while keeping the psi going to the solenoid at a safe 150 to 180 psi. Both do the exact same thing. Except maybe that the Evil respirator looks better and that it has a valve specifically designed to go along with it. For me set up, I have the ND cap and Jackhammer but I also have the Eclipse Aggressor valve, which is an uprade from the stock valve. It's basically shinier and cut a little sharper than the stock valve. More importantly though, the Aggressor vavle cames with a piston that is much heavier than the stock piston. Heavier piston means more air pressure is needed to push it, which also helps up my operating pressure.
So, I guess my point in mentioning this is that the ND cap and ANS combo does pretty much the same thing and you can upgrade the valve so it's probably identical to the Evil setup. It's just the the Evil stuff is much more coordinated so that it doesn't look so mix-and-match.

Basically, yes.
Dravion

Is the eclipse valve a high pressure valve like the Evil valve? I mean, is it marketed as one? I haven't heard a lot about it.

how many shots u get ouutta your 68 45 with that valve i am debating between evil and eclipse

I didn't get a full fill, but I shot 1000 and used about 2000 PSI. Go figure.
cris8762
12-31-2002, 06:08 AM
right now i'm considering getting the newstyle ND lpr and the new ND high flow valve, the ND guys claim to get 1500 shots off of a 68/45
checkyourhopper
12-31-2002, 06:18 AM
With my setup, I've been able to get 9 to 10 pods and a full hopper out of a 68/45. That's about 1,500 shots.
big ugly spyder
12-31-2002, 08:29 AM
so the evil is getting about 1500 plus shots and the eclipse get 1500....if you only used half your tank maybe u could get close to a case.......
