If you have a checking account, you use personal checks to pay for things, and when the person you gave the check to cashes the check the money is subtracted from your account balance. Alot of stores won't accept personal checks when you buy online because sometimes people write checks when they don't have enough money in their checking accounts and the store will get stuck with a bounced check fee.
A cashiers check is just like a money order you buy from the post office, except you get a cashiers check from a bank. The bank will charge you a couple of bucks to purchase a cashiers check. Just get a money order at the post office, it is cheaper and easier.
