I had to vote for the talon because i believe that was the first paintball gun i ever saw or shot, might have been a tigershark though that was back in 91 or 92 i believe. The first gun i ever played a game with was a Vulcan and i blew out the side of the barrel when i got a ball jam and failed to notice. The first gun i got a kill with ingame was a Tigershark and the first and only gun i've purchased to date is a M98.

Started with a Sheridan PGP rock-n-cock w/a 10 round tube feeder and 12gms! Play all day and go thru like 100 rds of paint! And that was hoseing! You could shoot 20 rounds per 12gm.. Bunkering? what is that?LOL There was a stragety back then, ya got pretty much one shot then ya gotta move! Its funny what I used to think a firefight sounded like back then to what it sounds like today!
PUMPS STILL RULE... well at least till yer shooting at me!LOL

I almost held on to it too! It broke on me about a year ago. no wonder... i've had it for 4 years! it broke, though :( I remember the christmas i got it though... It was the first paint gun i ever actually fired (my dad got me into this sport! now i'm better than him  )

I'm looking at a couple of guns now though... I've got $750 to spend on a new gun, I'm looking at either a Intimidater, or a Auto mag tux, or a Prococker by 32 degrees. Any opinions? any other guns to suggest? PM me...

Richy_C

I have been interested in paintball for a while but never had the money to do anything. 5 days ago I got my first gun and it is an amazing Ras Intruder Atx. This is a more durable and powerful version of the spyder basically, but it comes with lots of extras. Rear cocking, expansion chamber, rear velocity adjuster, 12" slapstick barrel with shoots way better then my friends m98 barrel and my other friends ACI F-4 Illustrator. It also has a vertical feed. To sum it up, I Love This Gun!!!

tippmann 98 and upgraded it it has Lapco Bigshot, Tippmann Expansion Chamber, PB 2x
Trigger, Lapco Trigger Guard, Black Dye Sticky Grips, Rocket Cock, PB Dropforward,
16 ounce fatboy, polished internals, silenced bolt, 2 trigger mods. My whole gun is black
because i play woodball and i dont like the shiny good looking guns.... I like the ugly
great performing gun that can take some abuse

I started out with a modified KP-1. It had a 15 round tube that was spring fed and was bolt action. I got a Nelson 007 later to go with it. After that everything is a blur!

My first gun was a talon. Lata bought me a piranha. Great gun. now my talon sits around. the most use it gets is when i shoot (month old co2) at my cat when she bothers me. (there are no pbs in it)

My first gun was a nelspot pump action POS. I had bought a SI reciever for it w/ auto trigger (hold down the trigger and the gun will fire as fast as you can pump the gun) and was as hi-tec as you caould get (back then). It was quickly replaced when the tippman 68 special came out.

Labor day week-end.3 friends and I went to Wal-Mart and picked up 2 BE blades ($20 each) and 2 talons ($30 each). At the time we thought shop goggles were all we needed for eye protection....
Well 6 months later we all have spyder type guns and are just around the corner from picking up a foursome of Matrixs'. Damm the arms race.

I sold the BE stuff on E-Bay before Christmas got $48 for the pair of blades and $66 for the pair of Talons??

see? Brass Eagle is an important corporation. It introduces people to paintball, and starts them off in the right direction. BE shouldn't be bashed because their guns are crappy. BE is doing its job. Their purpose isn't to compete with Angels, but it's to help newbies get started. If you notice on this thread, most people started out with a BE gun. I know i did. I had a Stingray, and if i didnt' get that gun as a gift, i don't think i'd be into paintabll..

03-16-2001, 10:42 AM
a little over a year ago i bought a shutter, upgraded it little by little and at the end of 6 months i had only the stock body and stiker left. after that i got a palmer blazer. i loved that gun and now it is my backup. i just got my intimidator. my shutter is now something that i keep around to lend parts to my friends, and to fool around w/. i love just messing w/ it cuz my blazer i cant touch or it will void the warranty and my timmy i dont touch cuz i havent figured everything out yet.

i started back in the day with GOTCHA, that was some cazy stuff. dont know if it could be considered paintball or not though. it died out quick though. came back into the game last year with a decked out stingray 2 ( yeah, i said decked out stingray 2). i upset a lot of people with that gun. (stare at ceiling and begin flashback). man that was fun. i remember some guy i picked off at about 100 feet with one shot. he couldnt believe it and quit. he said something about my 50 dollar piece of crap.

The first gun i ever shot was a Tippman 98. But that was only at trees and targets. My first gun was a piranha bottom line which me and my brother bought behind my parents back. I sold my have to my brother last year. So i could buy a spyder compact 2000. I have since tricked that out and about 2 weeks ago i bought a stock cocker. But it hasnt come through yet(which is really pissing me off)

You should have included some punp guns in your survey. It leaves a big void in players, mainly old timers who like myself started with the only gun that was availible at the time, Nelspot 007 bolt action pistol.

the first day i played i started out with a tipmann rental. when it broke the field owner gave me a thubder cat.
the first gun i owned was the standard spyder, this was back in 96 before the mass of clones and the tl and stuff. i remember when the spyder se cam out it pissed me off because it was after i put a couple hundred into mine to get what they had stock. but after the vertical bottle adapter stripped the aluminum body of the spyder i got me a millenium body, and that made me happy :-). now i'm going electric. wish i hadn't almost a thousand into that standard spyder.

TALON!! WHOOOO!!! who says those things weren't accurate, if everybody else you played with had them they were awesome. I only bought a compact when my friend bought a TL, then he bought a cocker and I bought his TL. Needless to say I like it better than a Talon but talon is what started it all, to think my mom thought that paintball was just a fad and I would waste 80 dollars starting out, that's when talons cost 40 dollars. I played with it for a whole year! Showed her didn't I?
