Ok, I'm getting rid of the stingray II and rhino spitfire as ideas for beginning guns for me. I dont know, a lot of reviews have told me they're not too reliable and Im probably gonna be playing a lot. Im kicking it up a notch. I now have a more advanced list. Here we go: spyder compact 2000, avalon diamond gt, nps rebel, tippmann 98, BE raptor, bob long millenium spyder, and piranha vtl. I need some feedback about these guns, at least tell me which ones I should definitely eliminate from the list. Plus, im thinking of buying them from http://www.xpaintball.com
Anyone ever bought stuff from this site, and are there other sites with better prices. Thnx.

I had a spyder compact 2000 but i upgraded to a Autococker and I love the Compact. It's a great gun. I get all my markers at http://www.paintball-discounters.com because most of their prices are lower than Xpaintballs. Thats just my 2 cents.

I agree if you were going to get any of those I would narrow it down to three guns the Piranha , the spyder or the tippman. any one of these three guns should be well suited for all around play and are highly upgradeable... important for someone who may one day want to take the sport a step higher.....

TIPPMANN!!! TIPPMANN! dude, i dont knwo about other people, but tippmann is definetely the way to go. the amount of upgrades, the durability,....its incredible. A car can go over a m98 and it would still work fine. also, soooo many upgrades! its just like da cocker in ability to upgrade. with whatever upgrade path you wanna take, u can make it happen! definetly go with the m98.

I THINK YOU SHOULD GET THE PIRANHA.

That is such a lame argument ... why do tipp fans always bring that up??? have you ever run your tippman over with a car???? I'm not saying tippman's are bad... but to say oh yeah I ran over my brass eagle raptor and then I replaced the barrel and the hopper and it still worked just like new does not make the gun look any better... ANY BODY WHO PLANS ON RUNNING OVER THEIR PAINTBALL GUN TO TEST IT"S DURABILITY PLEASE RAISE YOUR HAND.... I dunno maybe i am just more impressed with a gun that can hit a fly at 80 yards than I am with a gun that can get run over by a car and could only hit the ground because of gravity....
i have heard alot of good things about the piranhas.....i don't hate tippman but like phaelon said who cares if u can run it over with the car i don't know but i would not do that to any gun and if it survived its not like there are cars on the playing fields. tippmanns are good for rental guns but that is because they are being used by ppl that may abuse the gun thats why fields that rent guns like it. when u own a gun u take care of it because it is your and u arn't going to be chucking it at trees or anything like that. I prefer piranhas but thats just my opinion.

I would go with a Tippman 98 out of all of those. The best prices I've seen on them are at Paintball Discounters (http://www.paintball-discounters.com/cgi-bin/webc.exe/st_prod.html?p_prodid=618&p_catid=46&sid=5bW2dL01w5O53qo-15100531126.62).

I would have to say go with the rebel bottomline, i just purchased one myself and i love it, i have ran tons of low quality paint through it and as long as i dont chop i get absolutely no breaks, besides the power feed its a great gun

I agree with the short list Spyder, Tipmann, Piranah. However, I'd look at the Piranah STS G2, which adds a gas through foregrip and other upgrades not on the VTL. I'm not sure how much the VTL is, but I got my STS G2 for $146.49 at Big Boys Toys.
As for running over my marker, I probably wouldn't. And, though it may be advertised that way, I doubt a M98 would stand up to being run over by my car (Very Large and Heavy Van). Maybe that advertisement had a Yugo or something light. I don't know.
I haven't order from Xpaintball, but I here they're very dependable. You should also check out Big Boys Toys at

I've ordered all my stuff from them and have never had any problems. Very knowledgeable staff, quick delivery.
Good luck with your purchase.

shop4paintball.com is a good site. They have a good selection, my friend ordered a 32 degrees rebel off there and it came within a week.

I would go withe the compact 2k. If you want a gun that is already upgraded get the bob long millenium

Compact 2K hands down, good gun and it's cheap. I used it for a while until I got my new gun, and though it blows the Compact out of the water, I still love the little guy, lol. Seriously though, Spyder Compact 2K, it's a great gun and the price will let you buy a good barrel right away
