I play mostly rec ball at a local wooded field and there is one thing that is really starting to get to me. We play a lot of attack and defend games, usually 5 v 5, where team work is important. Most of the guys there are younger (like 12-16) and won't listen to a dang word that the team captain says!!! It really makes me mad because what we end up having instead of a coordiated attack are 4 teen-age rambos running around trying to be heros.

Last week we were playing such a game, and I decided to rush a fort with my partner. We were doing good and advancing fast untill my partner took a suprise shot to the head. This left me alone behind a bunker. Three experienced players were firing at me from the fortress. I decided to wait for some kids on my team to attack from the other side and distract the defenders. All of a suddden i hear leaves rustling behind me!! It's the kids walking around about 200 yards away from the fort!! Come to find out, they got scared and ran away. Needless to say, I tried to evacuate my bunker and got lit up.

I can understand newbies getting confused, but there is no excuse for "experienced players" to act in such a way. Im not saying this because im a bossy control freak (I rarely take the lead role because I consider myself a rookie) but enough is enough.

I was just wondering how some of you guys deal with such individuals when trying to plan an attack or ambush without sounding like a bossy smart-*** who "knows-it-all".

Shabby, u obviously wouldn't rate Counterstrike as a great multiplayer game if u played it. Its supposed to promote team effort, but it turns into a bunch of heros. Yeah i cant stand that either. Thats why i rarely go to fields and play. Usually we just get like 12 friends of mine and others and go to these huge woods behind my house and play. Since everyone knows each other, we can easily rely on others and work as a team. Its damn fun too.

Yes I know the feeling and it's easy to say anyone who gets shot in the arse better not be on my team however there are alot of newbies that just are plain scared to get hit... but running is not a good option... but hey on our renegade style when we play free for all you better be able to run very fast cause it's not one shot kills you get shot until you start hollaring stop! :)

me and a couple of my friends started a team at the end of last summer. So far we haven't had any problems except one time at a field we had some kids who ended up with us and woudn't do anything we asked of them. they always wanted front line so they could be heros, so we finally sent them to the front on every game. after being out for most of the time they decied to listen to our battle plans
