does the imp have a velocity adjuster?..and can a stock impulse get up to around 300 fps?

Dwell... See those two buttons on the right side of your imp? Take a paper clip and push the one on the left to go down, right to go up. Run pressure around 180 for the best effects.

I run mine at about 160 but it is up to you and your gun were it runs best but minor adjustments in velocity just turn your max flo just so slightly.
Just my 2 cents

no it doesnt, it can only fire 200 fps, thats the problem with imps........

yes, a STOCK impulse can be adjusted, but it takes a bit more "adjusting" then spring tension on a lower end gun - there are 2 things to adjust, the pressure via a reg and the dwell via buttons or pot switch on the side of the gun......
it is recommended (who recommended? i dont know :eyes: ) that you set a impulse to 180 psi and use the pot switch or the buttons (depends on what board you have, most have 2 buttons now) to adjust velocity to whatever you want
but you can run it at a number DIFFERENT from 180 psi, so long as its not above 200 psi, thats not good for the solenoid....

i thought it was bad to adjust velocity with dwell :eyes:

You normaly control the veloicity by adjusting the input pressure (the big knob on the reg). Watch your pressure-- DO NOT use the gun over 200 psi. If you can't get the gun up to speed at 200 psi, it time to adjust the dwell. I won't go into that here- you should read that secotion in the manual a couple of times before asking how to do it.
At any rate, you souldn't HAVE to adjust the dwell- just use the pressure

first, read the manual very carefully
second, if you read the manual you shouldn't need to ask the manual, and if you are too lazy to read the manual then you shouldn't have a paintball marker
on the off chance that you simply can't understand the manual, or don't have one this is how to setup your impulse for the right velocity:
-turn it on/ gas up put paint in etc
-adjust your pressure to 180psi
-next go to a chrono and adjust your dwell untill you get as near to 280fps (or 20 fps below your field limit) as possible,
-use your max flo to "fine tune" the velocity
NOTE: new impulses need some time to "break in" (2-6 cases depending on the marker) and until this happens you can't expect brilliant consistency or efficiency and it is recomended that you check your reg as often as possible, and that you chrono most games when you first play.
I'm sorry.. I was thinking of LPRs when I said dont use dwell... My bad.
