Turning up his velocity should help but if he has it all the way in already then try a stiffer spring. His bolt shouldn't make too much of a difference. If anything a new bolt will be softer on the ball. For example a delrin bolt is meant to hit the paintball a little softer. The velocity and spring options should fix it though.

you could try to take the venturi out of the bolt. That would cause more air to hit the ball, hence it would move faster. The plus to this is it is free and if you don't like it, just put the venturi back in. :)

Taking out the venturi might cause some accuracy and distance problems.
Buying a new bolt wouldn't improve much.
A new, stiffer spring would help.

In general, paintball guns aren't meant to be "high-powered." A spyder will shoot just as hard as a tourney gun; it all comes down to accuracy, not power. Power is limited in tournament games, and at most fields.
