A lot of you guys have a CMI Tru Flite 16" barrel and what not, yet I have never heard it come up before. I have seen it on ebay for pretty cheap and was just wondering why everyone has one but never talks about it.

I have one...

Doesn't match my marker (barrel is black, marker is blue anno)...

It is fairly loud, and unported, aside from the muzzle brake at the end.

It is from what I have read a small bore barrel as well.. So some paint does not fire well.. But then again some does really well..

It seems to recover pretty easy from a barrel break too because there is no porting to get gummed up with paint or anything... A couple of shots and it cleans itself up quite a bit and works reasonably well until you can get the barrel cleaned out entirely.

It is also pretty accurate considering. Which is good because it is so loud that if you don't hit your target in the first shot or two, they will know exactly where you are firing from...

I keep it around as a backup barrel.. I have a 14" CP barrel as well.. Which shoots great until I get the odd barrel break, then I can practically shoot around corners...

I say they are a decent value for the money assuming you have a decent barrel to paint match...

Ax.

I have a 14" and am happy with it for the price I payed. You can do real well for price on ebay, just got one for a friend ($18!). Doesn't come with an o-ring, if you use it without one it'll be loud, but with an o-ring it quiets down real nice. Only real bummer about it is that they all have to be cleaned/polished a little when you first get them, mostly just paint residue in barrel, but sometimes the edges of the rifling are rough also.
All in all not a bad barrel, better than most (definitly better than most stock barrels). If you're on a tight bugget I definitly recommend the tru-flight. You can spend twice or three times the money and get a better barrel, but its only an incremental improvement, not a two-three times improvement.

i have the tru-flight MFQB. the only difference is that i have about 3 inches of straight porting along the side. i really couldnt notice a difference between the regular tru-flight and mine (my neighbor has a regular tru-flight). But i havent done any testing yet. i thought it was more accurate than my stock spyder barrel. I didnt polish it yet but i plan to real soon, maybe today. I would recommend it if you dont have much money to spend.

Don't know about local stores, or barrel comparisons (that can be a difficult thing because of paint use factors etc.). But, there are some online stores that carry the barrel, such as shop4paintball.com and xtreme (xpaintball.com).
