I just got my 2k2 cocker and boy am I ever happy, eliminations left and right. However later during the day I swaped with my friend w/ his 98c rt, boomstick and my stock wgp reg.

I really really love tippmanns w/ rt's they are just fun, I have always admired his 98c its paint flinging ability, it brings a smile to my face every time, however with the addition of just my stock reg off my cocker (merry x-mas tj!) not only could I fling paint better than anyone at the field but my shots were dead on!

And though I am not trading my cocker for a tippmann, I have decided to buy one. Besides the 98c, I have also been eyeballing the A5 for its superior bps. I have never actually used the A5, or even seen a nice one for that matter, but I just like it, and I would like to save the cash from not buying another revvy. But it occured to me that the thing that really did it for me was the addition of the reg to his 98. So I would like to know if the A5 can be fitted with a reg, and if so do you need a vert bottle adaptor or something? And frankly if one of you A5 owners thinks it is good enough without the reg speak up. (But please no fanatics ie "My procarbine can fire 22bps too!" ect ect ect.)

After doing my cocker this will be a mojor investment, and the reg factor will probably be the reason I go A5 or 98c.

Thanks in advance,

well in order to fit a regulator easily, you'd be better off going to a custom remote setup, with the regulator incorporated as the first stage before the hose. But as for fitting it onto the gun itself, a lapco grip frame 2-bolt adapter block, and a drop forward cradle to an HPA tank would do the job nicely. One thing to consider with the A-5 is that it depends on gas pressure taped from the firing to work both the cyclone feed and optionally the RT mod. So doing all that AND regulated to low pressure CO2 might not leave enough excess gas pressure to do the job correctly. So I say go
to an HPA setup with a preset 850psi regulator on it. You get
the consistency and the feeder and response trigger will have plenty of pressure to operate normally.

Well you could do as DeeEight said, but the a5 does have a Built in Vertical adapter. So it will take a regulator or expansion chamber or any sort of in-line device outta the box. no need to go bottom line with it. But if you do use a regulator your going to have to watch and see how the gun operates at different pressures, becuse i'm sure that the lower your reg it down the less extra air there will be to operate the cyclone feed and the rt (if you get the rt). Just something to keep in mind =)

While it does have the vertical ASA port, you need to add a volumizer to the mix if running LP as the valve chamber isn't big enough to truly exploit a regulated setup otherwise. Best place to put one is in the ASA port and run the regulator to that.
