What are somestupid tings you did/thought when you were a newbie?
When I started paintball (I was 10) I had a model 98 I bought online and went to a field to play. I had very limited knowledge of the sport, and I judeged people's skill by whether or not the had a revv or a spectra googgle system like the flex 7  I also though spyders were the best guns in the world, and I got scared whenever I saw someone dry firing fast with an electro.

Ummm.... I didn't do a lot of stupid things, although I went to this field for the first time and I had my spyder TL Plus and some other guy had a phantom or or some sorta tippmann with a 21 inch barrel and a JT jersey/Proteus. I thought he was a wicked good sniper.

I said:
"Let me defend the flag, I'm a pretty good sniper" All others players start laughting and I was like .
Also...
I thought there were only two paintball companies, BE and Sheridan cuz in my country they only sell that brands.

The only real dumb thing i did as a newbie was give my dad the marker while a told him to shoot me and he shot me from about 5 feet away right in the ***! It hurt worse than anything! Other than that i guess shooting my own teammate in my first scenario game. Thats about it thank goodness!

well to begin with, i got a griffin (that pretty much speaks for itself), THEN i homo'd it out (around 240 bucks worth of upgrades  ), THEN i decided that i'd climb a tree in the very back of the field and "sniper" people from above. so i climb the tree, then i wait until the game is almost over, and some guy comes along to get the flag. i move wrong and my hopper falls off, but luckly he didnt see it. so im sitting there and decide to squeze off a shot onto his head, and the ball breaks (another mistake, buying eagle paint), and the other 2 that were in the elbow broke along with that and the guy found out i was in the tree so he just LITTTTTTT the whole tree up!!!!! i got hit about 20 times no joke. talk about overshooting.

I wasn't as bad as some of you guys...I actually tried out some guns before I bought one, and I went with friends. I would say the worst mistake I made was really avoiding getting shot. At first I was playing really conservative.

Seen dumb things although I did very little...
I got shot with a barrel plug...hmm...a saw a kid run off the field asking why his gun wouldn't work; one time it wasn't cocked, the other time the safety was one...another time a girl got shot and she ran away crying (she came across as a prissy, upperclass girl anyhow, no offense my g/f is too)...watching newbs talk about all their great gear...forgetting to take their condom off before play...

I didnt do much except....... I fell asleep sorry. LOL.
Like I was saying I was refilling my hopper from my pod and was struggling to get it back into harness. Then I finally got it in. I forgot to close the lid on hopper, leaned my marker back, and about half of my paint in hopper fell out. :(

I surrendered under heavy fire and let the enemy take me hostage. It was actually kind of fun until they used me as a human shield... :D
I don't like to talk about that incident much... :(

well i have a list of doing really stupid things as a newbie.
(1) well i hadent paintballed before but a had a broken leg and i had just got the cast off, right after that we had to go pick my brother up from paintballing and i walked right into the middle of the field (not knowing so) and almost got shot in the leg. :yell:
(2)Shot my own teammate right in the balls twice, as if one shot wasnt enough, I shot to paintballs and hit him twice rights in the scrotum.
(3)I was gonna shoot my barrel plug to see how far it whould go and I didnt realize i had a paintball still in my barrel...well it kinda blew up all over the place, good laugh though.:biglaugh:

the things that pissed me off the most were my dye pods. i'd go to grab it by the lid and the entire top of the pod would come off  i was pissed becasue i used all my paint in that one game becasue it happened twice. i glued those damn lids on and so far it hasnt happened again.

I think I have done more dumb mistakes now then as a newb... one time I was fixing my gun and they called us on to play and when I got to the field I realized I forgot to bring my tank:rolleyes: . Then during a tourney I accidentally shot myself in the foot while loading...definately wiped that...there is no way im getting called out for shooting myself. I wouldn't be able to live with myself.:D

I didnt do too many stupid things either, but when I first got my cocker (not knowing ANYTHING about how the gun works) we go to the field, I play all fine and dandy. Then we go home and I clean it still good. Next time however we go to play I cant figure out why my balls wont go more than 3feet. A good hour later I give up and take it to the guntech, he's like umm u just had ur bolt in upside down, so I'm thinking oooh of course (I dont know what a "bolt" is at the time :)). Into hte day I get a break so I take it out to clean it and put it in upside down AGAIN. Needless to say shortstrokign + upside down bolt 4 times in a day the gun tech didnt like me much...but at least I learned what a bolt was :p

I thought I was onto a really good thing, seeing all this free paint laying on the (dusty) ground and did like some other guys I was playing with and hoarded up whatever I could. Needless to say, a ball got stuck in the feed and I had to call myself out to fix it. After about 5 minutes of praying that a ref didnt see what I'd done (I was using a rental) I managed to get this bloated sucker out, and carry on playing.
This was in my very first game, the same time that I really looked up to this guy who brought into school one of those jugs of BE paint. "Whoa, Brass Eagle...that's the brand for me!". Just as well I checked this site out before I bought my first marker.

i would see paintballs on the ground and think FREE PAINT and put it in my hopper and try shooting and wonder why my gun broke balls so much. those are the good times.

(1) my first game we were playing capture the flag in the woods and i captured my OWN flag and ran it back to the teams flag and then got plastered.
(2) my second game was the first time i played at a feild. and as i was playing a team-mate said to me "its good luck to shoot the people in the striped shirts" and i beleived him so i saw a guy "in a striped shirt" and i unloaded my hopper on him. then after the game he explained to me that he was a referee and that my friends played a creul joke on me.
(3) one day in a woods game i was a sniper and i did not see any enemy's for like an hour so i got bored and picked off all the referee's. then a ref saw me and started charging at me while yelling...so i fired a round and nailed him right in the nuts.. then i relized where i hit him and i yelled out "sorry" and like 8 people from the other team heard me , found me and lit me up......

When I first got my cocker I didn't know that the air stayed in the gun after you unscrewed the tank. Needles to say, I shot myself square in my hand.
Also, during the first game I ever played I had a 6 pod harness and only about 300 paintballs. I filled each pod only about 1/2 or less of the way full and started playing. By the time I had to reload my hopper I realized that I had broken all the paintballs I had for the day in those 6 pods.:(

I picked up many paintballs off the ground as I didnt have money for paint...I broke about 10 balls in the breech of my rental pro-lite. The cleaning booth guy wasn't happy.

oh man, let's see.....
-Bought BE paint
-Thought a spyder was just a Raptor ripp-off (this was when there were only 3 or so spyders).
-Bought one of those damn hi-viz clip-on sights because I thought it would help my 'sniping'
-"target practiced" in my backyard on a big piece of plywood with drawn-on targets. (well, I guess it was okay since I had a be tigershark.
-used one of those wide-mouthed gatorade bottles as a pod
-wearing two pairs of pants, two long-sleeves, and a big camoflauge parka because I was afraid of the pain.
-buying one of those BE deluxe masks (man I'm glad I'm not dead!)

I remember when i was 10 or something (before i ever played paintball) i would walk into the sports store with my dad and look at the guns(i was weird) i looked at paintballs and i thought that brass eagle was the best and only company for paintball.

i still wear 2 pairs of pants....? not because of pain in gettin shot, its pain in kneeling, we play on mostly hard rocky ground wit alot of tree roots, and i kneel and snap alot so my knees ge ttorn up...dunno why i havent invested in knee pads yet:confused:....seeing how i only started playing in june....uhh so far ive back talked a ref when he told me to put my mask on and thats a stupid thing to do...haha i know most of the right and wrong things now, so im good, i think....haha

wait wait wait....i forgot about everything before i started to play.....i had a friend who played and he told me he had 4000 paintballs at his house, boy was i amazed at that number....thought when my friend shot his new tippman from 50 ft away and hit a fire hydrant that he was a god at paintball...and haha thats it now...lol

*new thing to add to my list* the second ime I ever playeyed was at a Wayne Dollack scenario.... First time I started to go play I went up with no tank on my m98... Second time with no mask, and third time I took my mask off when I got to my bae becauseit fogged up lol.
Not about me, but I was in this shop one day (it's in a mall) and me and my friends saw rhis kid come struttiing up with a big metal case with locks on it. We kind of waited a second to see what he had in it, and when he came up he lugged it onto the counter, unlocked it and pulled out.....ONE OF THOSE CRAPPY OLD RAPTORS THAT FIELDS USE AS RENTALS!!!!! It was hillarious me and my my friends just broke out laughing as we were leaving and we must have looked high or drunk one becausewe were laughing histarically all the way to my friend's car.

I once actually thought that the stingray was a pretty high-quality gun:laugh:, I was all ready to do all sorts of mods and upgrades for mine. My riend was plying with his newly acquired black dragun sniper lcd and wash brushing leaves off of his barrel and shot himself twice in the fingers. He couldn't even feel them for 15 mins.
