Hey guys, I have a question about siting in this gun (m98 custom with bigshot)...

I have only had opportunity to shoot it on my "range" (35' to a fence with painted circle) and I am disturbed...it seems that it consistently shoots to the left. If I adjust the rear sight all the way to the right, I can get it almost on target, it's very precise...just not accurate.

What could be the cause of this? two things I notice...one...for some reason, to me it appears that the barrel may be pointed SLIGHTLY to the left...so little that noone else can see it...but I still do, the stock barrel is too short to tell. I know a guy with a m98 that I will try the barrel in his gun to see if it's off or maybe my gun is off, we'll see.

Second, the tube (forgive my newness) or pipe that pushes the ball out appears to rub the top to top left (from looking down from front) of the tunnel it moves in...and resting on top to top left...so maybe when it sends the ball into the barrel it's getting a spin?

I am not sure, just need to know options on this.

There Can be a few things that can be wrong. The barrel could be damaged, dirty from ball breakage, or it could be that you are just shooting bad paint. try cleaning the gun

Or it could be wendy, your Velocity could be too high and warping the balls as the bolt applies the air to them (bolt could be fudged as well...)... :)

well i looked at the barrel and still think you smoke crack. :P
Ummm bad paint is a possiblity. We will have plenty of diff paint to try next saturday.
At least m98 bolts are plastic ill have to show you my stock spyder bolt its all scraped up on the top left but thats just a spyder thing.
We can always take it apart and see if mabe they did a bad casting job on the inside. That can all be polished smooth.

Also, we havent changed the velocity from whatever it shipped at. Its possible that with the velocity in range it will perform better.

and for anyone else replying i should mention. The gun is new, the barrel is new and theve never had a ball break in them.

hey, what color is your TL plus oreo?

I was looking around and I think I'm gonna get one...instead of my m98...I am a very picky guy...and from what I've read, I'd rather have a spyder tl+ than the m98 custom...

I'll sell my m98custom on ebay, with my feedback, I might lose $20 in teh deal...but I'll live with that.

If I dont' sell it now, I won't get much for it, old ones don't bring in near as much as ones with less than a few hundred balls put through them.

The spyder looks to be a mroe compact gun, the tippmann is kinda large...and ugly, which would get to me in the end.

Anyways, let me know. I found the tl+ on paintballgear.net for $160 and the J&J at bbtpaintball.com for $40, sounds good to me.

i got the black one. There are annoying things about both guns. For one spyder bolts all seem to scrape up real nasty on the top left (stock bolt) Im goina replace mine with a delrin bolt wich will be pimp. Also sighting down the gun is useless because of the power feed is in the middle. And finaly the trigger pull is much too long for me. Im trying to do some mods to make mine better but i may endup buying a new grip frame.
Of course you know the tippmans problems. Hard to take apart (clamshell design.) Solid elbow. etc etc...

But you can check it out soon. Look it over to make sure thats what you want.
