View Full Version : Can a barrel increase distance?

I've heard people arguing that it doesn't matter what barrel you have because they can't increase the distance you shoot. I know that the flatline increases distance, but do other barrels increase the distance too?
If so, what barrels give you the best distance?

No, but some barrels can give you a higher velocity.

The only way to increase the distance a paintball traveling 280 fps will go is to impart back-spin on it. Thats what the flatline does. I believe there was/is a marker that attempted this same effect (z-body or something like that). Most barrels do not put spin on the ball. Therefore, no barrel will give more distance than any other barrel. Some may give you more accuracy at a given distance, though.

All barrels put a slight spin on the paintball, thats why paintballs don't fly perfectly straight indoors.

Actually Smart Parts has great Barrels. I've tried the Smart parts AA barrel and it has really good range and ok accuracy imo, but i think it pretty much depends on what paint you use and your setup..

I've owned an AA barrel, range is exactly the same as my other barrels at the same velocity.
