im gonna get either a shutter or a pro/carbine for Christmas i dont know which. I have read the reviews about the shutter and some about the carbine. I like to snipe and im not the speedball type. I am not going to say what gun i prevoiusly owned because of the embarrasment, but i have played paintball several times with rentals like the M98 and prolite and the tippman 68. I have never played with a syder and i want to know what gun has better accuracy and which gun has more effective range. I think i might be getting a shutter and if i do what kind of Barrel should I get? I have read a lot of reviews but i cant decide. If i get the shutter I need a good barrel with accuracy, range, and not much ball breaks. I can spend up to 75$ and can someone tell me a good site to get good barrels for cheap price. I also want the barrel to use almost any paintball not like the Lapco where you must use a certain size. Thanks for your time.

I recommend getting a shutter but I guess my opinion is biased because I do own one. If you do get a shutter and you want to snipe then you probably want a barrel that is both very quiet and accurate. I would suggest the J&J Ceramic. While being both quiet and accurate it also cleans itself out in a few shots in the event of a ball break. Another choice for a quiet and accurate barrel is the CP one-piece. It comes in many different colors and bore sizes and is one of the best looking barrels. The most accurate barrel, according to what I have heard is the Lapco Bigshot, but the downside to this barrel is that it is loud. If you don't mind the noise then this is your best bet.

BTW, these barrels are all about $50 or less if you shop around.

If you are going to get a spyder, whatever you do do not get a shutter! I like spyders but I hate the shutter. The reason is that the shutter has pointless upgrades that hike up the price. First off the regulater does nothing. They put it before an expansion chamber, with totally defeats the purpose of a reg. Second, the stupid little hole in the side of the gun to show the bolt. All it does is collect dirt.

If you are going to get a spyder, get a TL+ or upgraded spyder compact. A TL performs just as well, and costs less. It has the same expansion chamber, bolt, grip frame, and barrel. And it doesn't collect dirt.

could i put something over those holes to prevent dirt buildup?

gastebucher, dirt doesn't get in the holes unless you purposely do something or you dig the gun into the dirt.

If you Like to snipe and stay back, why don't you get a m98 and save up for a flatline? The m98 is cheaper then the carbine, and it is much more upgradable. Well good luck finding your gun.

i totally agree with counterfeit. its like taht with many preupgraded guns. also, dont get da shutter. i heard its trigger is really heavy and long and there is a lot of side to side play. also, accuracy doesnt matter about the gun. well, da venturi bolt mite make a slight difference, but not much. the only more accurate GUN is the autococker because of the closed bolt design. but most of the time the accuracy is dependent on the BARREL and not the gun. If ur gonna get a barrel, i suggest the Lapco Bigshot. if you have a m98, you dont have to worry about balls breaking cuz da m98 is so awesome, but spyders just chop a lot even when ur not firing that fast. but if ur gonna get a shutter or da procarbine, i think you should get a TL plus
