i myself at one time was like this at one time but not anymore, i always used to say that i would suck because i had a crappy gun when it was really just because i wasnt a good player, now i have a spyder shutter jsut starting to upgrade it and i am better than most of the people i play with just becaues most of them always hide behind stuff and barely move, i run around in the open and bullrush people and i think i could do great with a talon, well maybe not a talon but you know what i mean.....

Just throw some feedback at this

That's why people take up stock class. If you want to really test yourself, see if you can pick up a splatmaster or nelspot 007 off e-bay.

Just imagine the look on Mr. Angels face...

"WHAT?!! YOU HIT ME WITH THAT?!!"

Maybe not quite so dramtic, but you get the idea. Of course, if you do use a talon, the effect is even greater.

IVe got a good idea...pick up an angel from ebay or something and hear "you only won because of your gun" all day from everybody...Ive finally started using a raptor limited with a few mods for rec ball...and some people still say the above line! gets old after awhile...

That's why I have considered rendering myself deaf, so I do not have to hear stupidity anymore.

Actually I beg to protest. There is a massive difference...

Rate of fire, when properly harnessed, can be a huge asset to the team. Then it becomes firepower when it is used properly. Most people don't do that however, instead they spray and do not move and therefore are not a team asset.

Accuracy of better guns is also existent; recoil adversly affects accuracy, or has a tendancy to do so. Weight and better design to conform to the human body is also apparent in the Z-Grips and IR3 making the potential for accuracy higher.

Most high-end guns run low-pressure and therefore, are quieter. There is a huge advantage in not being able to be heard for the first six shots you fire, especially if you have managed to flank or get behind them.

Confidence will be higher, there is a distinct mental advantage to knowing you have the best equipment out there. This will make you a better player, by believing that you are better. This affects both team and individual moral.

Finally, gas efficiency. If you have to pay per fill, you may end up saving more than the cost of the gun. Autocockers for example get around 1000 shots from a 68/3000 or 12-ounce tank.

I already picked apart Blacksheep's post in another thread "System X Cocker vs. Impulse", and it seems to be the same deal here.....it's all what your comfortable with

ME in my jersey and my "awsome" always gets "this guy has an expensive marker, he's got to be good!"

Sheepboy, if you know ur gun, nothing about it matters, u and ur gun can be a deadly team

ME in my street clothes and my "POS" always say that stories like that are 9/10 not true because the guys I saw at the field, while thier skill wasn't proportional to the cost of the guns, the guys with the good guns were winning because they had more invested in the sport.

AK47 Communistboy, if you can use proper English, people can comprehend what you are saying, you and a textbook would be a great team.

I can't be the only one who has seen the phrase "Mr. Angel" far too many times. Will these threads ever end?

Blacksheep is correct to a point. But it is skill. The Talon vs. Angel is also over used, of course the angel would win. And again the comback "Yah cuz the talon would break" is overused too.

It's a lil bit of a mix of both, but in the end it is definately the player that makes the difference.
The player is the one who makes the decisions on the field for the team as well.

i see what youre saying, but sometimes it is the gun. for instance, b.e.'s cant nearly keep up with my ROF, so i would suck with one.

i agree, to a degree with most things you said but not this. this is true for those who are new and do not realize how effective they are but for those who are confident with their talon can be just as effective. after all it is a mind thing. not to mention playing with a 'low end' gun makes your opponents overconfidant and cocky.

You have never fired a Rainmaker then...especially one with an upgraded fire board.

lol give rocky cagnoni a talon and me an xmag and i'd probably lose. but its true that a bad gun holds the player back.

i think playing with a higher end gun is helpfull..confidence wise and performance wise...how can you be good if your balls go liek this /\/\/\\//SS/\\--------ssss/\/\/\/\/ all over the field? how can u be good if you chop every other ball? how can u be good if your gun decides to break a part or start a leak? i think if you are really good you can win with lower end gear, but the good stuff helps...paintball is more mental than u think, but that includes counting on your gun and knowing your shots will be there, therefore allowing you to make certain moves and play to your potential. good gear helps, and i think it makes a diffrence...but also if you are a good player you will be good with any gear....look at Bad Company, they r an awesome team and shoot spyders...i know they wouldnt shoot spyders if they didnt get a fatty check for it, but it proves skill is more than gear.

good gear= helpfull.

good skill= needed.
