I would say, save up for a new gun. A little bit more and you have enough for an impulse, great gun.
If you can wait a little longer, then get about 200 more and get the new 2k3 shocker, damn they are sexy!! Im probably going to sell my gun to buy one.

Sell the Flash, buy an Impulse. Or get a cocker if you're a mechanically inclined individual.

I would upgrade the Flash...go to www.paintballgateway.com and you can then get a different trigger that shortens the trigger pull a bit more, convert it to lp and your gun will work every bit as good as any other high-end electro minus an anti-chopped mechanism which can be fixed with a fast hopper if you are fast on the trigger. A 'cocker with a slide will be slower than a Spyder, I'm sure everyone knows my opinion on the Impulse, really, you won't get much better preformance for $400.00 more.

your saying that an impy is no better than an upgraded spyder? HAH!

I would actually also be tempted to say that you should pimp out the Flash! I mean, what more are you looking for in a gun? Yes, people will give you more respect with an impulse, but if you pour 400 into the spyder, it will shoot quite well, and most likely better than an imp that you can afford! Look at it this way, for 400, you could add a Warp, a Total Freak, a regulator, and a bolt! This setup will shoot fast and accurate! Heck, add a valve and a new ASA, you wont have much stock left!

I'm with monkeybacon. Get the 2k3 shocker!!

if you throw 400$ into a electro frame double tune, guess what you get, an electro frame double tube that doesnt shoot much better....believe me i tried.....get an impy....

buy a Brass Eagle Blade and replace all of its stock parts slowly over time with Angel IR3 parts so that eventually no stock Brass Eagle parts will be left and you will have yourself a complete Angel.

Yes, I am saying that a Spyder will outpreform an Impulse.
Here is what I personally would do...and am planning on...
AKA Lightning Bolt and a Tornado Valve
Palmer Stabilizer
Drilled ASA Holes (3/16 I believe)
Macroline Kit
Check It Sweetspot Trigger
Egg
20-ounce anti-siphon
$350.00 or so...you have some left for paint!

i say, play alot.. then with what money u have left, buy a bko bushmaster.. get somebody to let u try theirs, ull fall in love wit them.. they're so much better than all blowbacks, and they're only $300... and i personally think that they out-perform any non-maxflo impulse.. and with a new reg (like a palmer) it, will outperform a maxflo impy.
but first thing's first... dont drop money into a blowback... ask everyone that moved up to a high end, they all say it's a waste. play with ur gun... then when u get good and cant stand your gun... dont sell it, move up to a better gun... believe me it's worth it.

Actually...I played with my PGP for six years without a problem until I sold it...that was the real problem.
The only real difference between a high-end gun and an blow-back is look, efficiency, and accuracy potential, and rof, all which can be had in a Spyder.
LP will make your gun quieter and run more efficienctly and reduce cycle kick.
ROF, every try a Sweetspot Trigger? It out-does any Impulse because the Impulse has a lot to be desired as far as the trigger
Looks, alright, so you can't really mill a Spyder like crazy.
Chopping will be lowered with LP and a good hopper that keeps up with your ROF which an evelution will do.
Now, many guns you will find, or upgrades, and even HPA, is all hype. LP is a lot of hype in some instances, others maybe not. My reasoning is this...if your gun goes down you will be able to fix it if you need to because of the mechanical operation, or mostly mechanical operation. Also, you already know your gun, so why take the time to play poorly and have to re-learn your gun?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now, as for not knowing much about Impulses, no, I don't. I go by my own experiances and what the operators and field owners have told me.
The dwell or reg was inconsistenct because you don't chrono with a 10fps difference with an HPA tank...or maybe HPA is hype as I stated...hmmm
Gas efficiency was bad in my opinion, lower than a blowback in most cases, want to argue with me?
The gun, for what it was, had a lot of cycle kick, want to argue that with me too?
How about the trigger and frame left a lot to be desired and that it was awkward?
Chopping was high...14/2000 doesn't stand too well in my book, how about yours? And this one was equipped with an eye also.
The barrels I tested had two bore sizes.
See, you cannot argue me findings or opinions with me because they are simply that. I don't quite understand how you can tell me what my opinions and findings are when you are not me. Hmm...

also high ends have recoil, loudness, and believe me.. a spyder cant really reach many of these things as much as you think... tru.. .a hooked up spyder can do alot... but from my experiences of running a team with hooked up blowbacks to a team with bushys... the difference is DEfinately big. it's harder to explain than to actually know
and Blacksheep... i recomend using a gun different than an impulse.... i think bushmasters outperform impys anyday, and i know that no impy can touch a reflex wit a good reg.

I disagree but that's my opinion.
Recoil does not matter at all really...if it does, it means you are not shooting correctly. It's easier to show than describe how to shoot properly but that's a different lesson.
Now, as for noise, from 40m away, a gun is nearly silent and I've found that 30m-35m a marker is capable of a first-shot elimination on a mask-sized target ninety percent of the time. My point is, it is hard to trade a single shot.
But I agree...a Spyder will never match a Matrix, at least not the current line-up. The trigger is slightly heavier and longer than on some electronic markers, it is louder and recoil is higher, but all of those obstacles can be overcome. I'd take an upgraded Spyder if I know that marker...you will learn it even better and be capable of playing better with it.
