how many paintballs can I feed into a sl68 II and fire without all of them braking?
I was thinking about building a shotgun system on a sl68II and would like to know if you can move the ball detent down some and load 2-4 paintballs and fire without them coming out in liquid form.
thanks a bunch

doubt you'll get more than one in w/o it really sucking... remember physics... if a mass X is going 250 fps then 2 mass is gonna have 1/2 the acceleration due to the formula force=(mass)(acceleration). Since your force is constant, your acceleration is 1/2 and the resulting muzzle velocity will probably be less than half because accel is f/s...
in simple terms... go buy a nasty typhoon... or tape two tippy together :eyes:

Actually, it's Force=(Mass)(Acceleration), and therefore Acceleration=(Force)/(Mass), thus acceleration (your speed) is inversely proportional to the mass of the projectile.
Just felt like correcting that :D

well I assumed that the velocity would be turned up somewhat, and If I remember if we can ignore the integral movement of the paint in the paintball casing, than mathmaticly if the paintballs are touching eachother than the acceleration won't be that much different. however, since the mass is larger, than the accelration is less. (you were right about that, but if I remeber its force=(mass)(acceleration))
Even though they're touching and we can ignore the imediate effects of brakege, as they accelrate they will seperate, due to the air pressure in frount of, behind, and in between them. So, as a side affect, the balls will leave the barrel at different velocities, although their Vi is the same.
I just wanted to know how many I could load without all of them braking when fired
man oh man, I can't spell

ouch... sry dood... darnit... i will change in my original post
you can load them and they wont break... ive fired 5 balls out of a ptx with ball detent problems... you are screwed on the velocity issue though...
you also are gonna lose any spin on the ball and thats gonna kill you... i remember playing with 3 bbs in my pellet gun when i was little... hehe...

you should also take into consideration that the 2 paintballs will divide the air resestance...thus giving a good thing that you didnt have before which means that if you jack up the psi hitting the paintball to about 500 or so that will put 200 pounds on each paintball and making it almost as good as shooting one... you will probally break a few with that much force on the first paintball during initial accelleration.
