I'm playing this guy on Sunday one on one for team trials. How do I beat him? I keep freezing up I don't know why!!!

One-on-one is my lest favorite way to play but if it comes down to that here is what I would try to do.
Say you are trading paint, snapp shoot and put cover on him to put him behind a bunker. Continue firing on the move (you have been practicing haven't you?) and move to another bunker and keep your gun trained on his bunker. Keep your eye trained on his bunker and maker sure you do not loose hime and the sneak around until you have his flank. It would help is you can get past one bunker so you've jumped two steps over one.

One on one is my favorite way to play, i dont know why i wish there were a couple 1 on 1 tournys around here, those would be real fun.
If its on a fairly big field, try to get angles on him, or circle around him something like that. Bunkering hm isnt the best choice if he knows how to snap shoot, and if you dont know how to snap shoot, than your at a real big disadvantage.

yeah, with one on one, circling or spiraling around your enemy helps. If you do it stealthfully you can useally hit 'em from behind. If not, you'll still force them out of their bunker usually. Just don't loose sight of your opponent! The last thing you want is to have them pop out somewhere and surprize you. Also, you'll have to give yourself your own covering fire, since there's no one else to cover you...

DO NOT lose track of him. If you remember that, and play tight and agressive, you'll be fine.

I don't mean to take over your thread, but what is snap shooting? I've never really gotten into all the vocab and stuff of pball; I was more concerned with going out and playing.

It's the name given to popping out from behind a bunker or wall and quickly shooting a few paintballs at your opponent, and then popping back in. You've probably done it tons of times already, just not knowing that it had a name :D

ahh :)
we always just called it gopher shooting... like those gophers in the games at arcades... gopher pops up, you try to hit it, it goes away. lol

i participated in a 1on1 tourney in october, and it was pretty fun. basicly what you need to do is get him to duck first. once you can get him so he cant see you (when hes behind his bunker) you keep shooting but make a move. make sure you move to a position that would give you an angel on him if he were to edge out looking for you at your previous bunker. if you do it that way, he wont know where you went, and you'll have some time to get some shots of on him.

If you mean your marker keeps getting cold, its because you are firing too fast on co2, maybe get an anti siphone tube, or expansion chamber..or reg.... and someday switch to HPA if ya got the cash.

if they know where you are, and you know where they are, you might as well start a conversation to loosen you up.
im serious.
I was doing a 2 on 2 game one day, and we all knew where eveyone was, so i just started talking smack to the guy i was pinning down. it helps me relax. it just does. He yelled something when i was shooting at him, so i stopped and asked him if he was hit. he paused, looked at himself, and yelled back "no!" i said "okay!" and promptly began shooting again. some friends of mine were watching from a distance and they started laughing thier butts off!!!!
shouting something like "you suck" and singing songs like "im gonna getcha" and stuff takes your mind off of getting hit and then just charge at them shooting and yelling and usually you get some points for being a crazy guy who's not afraid of getting hit. teams look for that stuff too.

hey nicke, i played at least 20-25 one on one games this summer vs my friends, wut i did alot of the time, which some people may say is stupid, is i bolted down the field as fast as i could along one side shooting every other step to keep him down. ON many occasions i made it BEHIND him and he never knew it. that was funny. one of the important things to remember is that if u want to move make sure ur shooting at his bunker to keep him down and move like that. NEVER LOSE TRACK OF HIM. Try and carry a good deal of paint also, so u can almost constantly barrage him when moving. i don't know ur skill or experience, but another thing that worked for me was to run up as far so that he could see me, i knew where he was but he could never find me. i knew where he was by looking thru cracks in the board and what not. when he moved i would try and move but make sure he doesn't see u. Wait till u get a really good angle on him. WHen i used that technique u stay in a bunker on the extreme sides, not in the middle. u should prop practice ur snap shooting too. hope that helps, let us know how it turns out.
o ya, and u said u keep freezing up, one thing someone once told me was whenever u get scared or u don't have any idea what ur doing, smile and just start laughting
be happy your one of those people who are able to play this great extreme sport, cuz trust me, theres plenty of people out thier that don't have enough money to play or have disabilites that won't allow them to play. trust me, think of this when your out thier. As stupid as it might sound i was in a bunker with some other kid once and the other team had like 4 guys firing at us when i just broke out in laughter, the kid thought i was nuts and i go hey, watch this, i just ran straight up the side and actually bunkered a kid on the other team. luckily he was a smart person and fired on the other two bunkers of people once he relied wut i was doing, it almost gives u a sense of courage, try it.
