the only reason that people emphasize that paintball is a sport, is because so many ignorant people, are trying to make it illegal and saying it promotes violence. so we tell them that it is a sport. All in all, it is just a bad thing to have paintball associated with "war" and "fighting". which it really kinda is, lol.

I have no problem with "fight" seems a bit inaccurate but "war" hmmm. Makes paintball sound very vicious. I could understand people using it as a way to advertise a very big paintball event.

This must be my crappest post yet

it sounds like a couple little kids going into the woods with talons, thats why.

Because it isnt a fight, it's a game. You sound like an idiot if you call it a fight, because nobody is fighting.

"The other day I turned on ESP and right after I watched a fight of baseball I saw a golf war going on. Totally awesome".

I have something against it because it just isnt a fight, it sounds stupid and childish

shooting at eachother usually counts as fighting

It is all about public image if a kid's parents come on here to look for information about paintball because little Johnny or Suzie wants to play; and they see the words "War" and "Fight" in the Threads, they are not gonna view it very positively. It seems like a small thing to do to keep the public from viewing this sport negatively. I kind of like to think of paintball as a sport and Twitcho has made an excellent point that saying "War" and "Fight" do degrade it somewhat. Some people don't mind it but to truly keep a good view of paintball in the public eye we need to keep tabs on the terminology we use.

Yeah and physical contact that may injure counts as fighting too I guess. Therefore, football is fighting, soccer is fighting (well, the fans...), hockey is fighting, sliding into the second baseman to break up a double play counts as "fighting him". Whatever man, I'll go have a few games of paintball, you go have a few fights of paintball. I know I dont sound ridiculous when I talk about it

So fighting doesn't involve contact, are you thinking when you post things. Other sport are much more violent then paintball, not saying that the word "fight" is wrong because it's all a matter of opinion

A fight is pretty much when you get pissed at someone and deliberately try to hurt someone, and this is important kids, they have to fight back ;)

Personally, I don't go out on the field trying to hurt people.

Remember a sport is what you do for fun or competition. A fight is when you have a problem with somebody, and a war is what a few countries do when they get grumpy. So until I am president or a kick boxer I play a sport not a fight or a war.

yeah it kind of sounds rediculous saying "fight" or "war". why don't you just call it game? or sport? is it really that difficult? it clearly describes it, and it's safer sounding than fight or war. jeez.

I dunno about you guys, but i would really like Paintball to go to high school and college (<has it yet?). I want PB to be a high school sport. And if we call it fight or war, then it wont evevn be though of to have it in schools. but if we have it as a sport, it might.

So call it a sport, becuase i would really like to play my senior year, but i dont think it will become a HS sport in 2 years..o well..maybe i could watch my kids play :) that would rock

so call it a sport
