For the new Dye Ultralite barrel (2 peice) are the two peices screwed together because my frined said they were, but that seems wrong.

If anything, it's probably loctited not glued.
It has the same effect though.

The new 02 ultralites are able to be screwed apart, the old style ones are glued.
