A lot of people say a Model 98 will never be as good as a stock Autococker no matter how much it is upgraded. Personally, I think it can because it has so many upgrades like R/T, PB Electro kit, etc. What do y'all think?

BTW, before anybody starts flaming me... I said STOCK Autococker, not TRICKED-OUT Autococker... I know a tricked-out Cocker is a lot better than any M98.
I actually own both.....
An Autococker 2k and a M98 with the R/T kit. I prefer my Autococker over the M98. Mainly because of the acuracy of the guns. The M98 with the R/T will sling paint like you wouldn't believe, but I like the acuracy of the 2K even stock. Upgraded the M98 does not even have a chnace against a autococker. The M98 is a great back up gun for when your cocker is in one of its moods.

I would take the autococker over a tricked M98 anyday.
All right people listen to me have any of you heard about the new EM98 it replaces the internals of the M98 and turns it electro, now you take that and throw in a Dye Boomstick aftermarket bolt and a powerfeed then you have one kickin' gun that will out shot any STOCK Autococker on the market.
Well, At that point you have spent way more than you would have spent just buying a tricked out autococker. I think he was talking in the same price range. If you add up all those additions to the M98 you up around $700. You can do one hell of a lot to an autococker for that amount of money. I still say the the cocker would be one hell of alot more accurate than a M98 no matter what you do to it. It all depends on how you grade a gun... accuracy or speed.
More like $600, put I own a triked out 2000 cocker.I am just arguing the case of the M98.

I would take the cocker or the tricked m-98 just cause I still have the option to upgrade. Even if the m-98 is better than the cocker thats the best it will be then it wont get any better.

I'd have to say cocker, cause like july said, you still have the option of an upgrade, plus im lazy, id rather get a stock cocker 2k than spend time spread out over like a year purchasing the upgrade parts for the m98

I would take the tricked out Model 98 and waste Autocockers just to piss them off and i would laugh after i flanked them a couple of games. Plus with a Model 98 you could do a custom paintjob and make it look sweet and with a Lapco Bigshot it has a pretty sweet accuracy. But the autococker also is a sweet gun i just love to see a newbie bragging about how good his Autococker 2000 is and how he can shoot anyone from blah blah blah you get the point and then when your on the field you see a tricked out Stingray 2 waste the newbie with the autococker I SAW THIS HAPPEN ONE TIME IT WAS FUNNY AS HELL! then I wasted the kid the next round with my M98 and he tryed to field strip the gun because he thought the gun was having problems when it was just the kid and he dissembled it and he didnt know how to reassemble it. He had to ask someone to help him. My point is it matters who is using the gun and not what gun the user has. A Execelent Paintball player can use a Stingray 2 and Take Out a guy who sucks with a Angel. So I Would Have To Say If Both People Were Equal Of Skill I Would Choose The Autococker but if it were me I would definatly choose the Tricked out Model 98.

I am a die hard cocker fan. Sure the M98 is good for beginners, but if you wanted to start playing local tournaments, I strongly recommend you getting the cocker. I had two cockers. A 99' tricked out and a 2000 tricked out. I was impressed with the way the 2000 cocker was out of the box, but I still wanted a quiter barrel. But for just getting started, the 2000 cocker is the best bet.

sure, you can have a m98 with reactive trigger, and yes it shoots fast, but I PREFER the pull on a cocker.thats what its really about you fools!Personal preference.i own a m98 and for 110 bux,it is deffinately worth it to drop in the rt mod.i have used it before, and it can shoot as fast as a reflex kit on a cocker
