This goes out to all u people living in florida or close. Im already forming a team with some friends that i know. But i would also like to know if anyone in this forum would like to start another team with me. We could play in tournaments near Orlando, Ocala, or Tampa. Reply if ur interested. Teams would probably be limited to 3-5 people.

Hey Anti, Thunderbay in Tampa is hosting a tournament in mid to late March ... There is some talk among the people I play with about forming a team ... What ya think? Also, hear there's gonna be a tournament at Weekend Warriors in Thonotosassa (sic) in April.

Thunderbay is looking for five-man teams, I think the same at Weekend Warriors ... both are for Novice players.

Im all for it Muck. Whats the date of the tourney in Tampa in March? Im going to a tourney at Weekend Warriors in Tampa on March 11 with a team, but after that were probably not going to play very often. So i will be free any time after that to play. How many other guys besides you are available to start a team?

I don't think Thunderbay has set a date for their Tournament. The March 11 Tourny at Weekend Warriors ... that's actually outside Tampa in a place called Thonotosassa, which I think is about halfway between Tampa and Lakeland. I think the guys I regularly play with are pretty serious about forming a team for tourny at Weekend Warriors, which means we could actually be playing against each other  Wouldn't that be cool!! :D in a nonaggressive type of way.

Anyway, as soon as I have dates and more info I'll post it.

I thought the tourney at Weekend Warriors you and your team were entering is in April? The one we are entering is in March. But if we're talking about the same one, wow, hope to see ya there.

I think I got the date confused with a Scenario Game they're doing in Mid April ... I'll need to get with a friend who has the dates to make sure.

As much as I wanted to get in on some tournament action, i'm afraid I'm gonna be sidelined for a few weeks while my knee mends.

:D
Anti, if your team is interested, Thunderbay is hosting a five-man novice tournament on April 29. I don't know if they have any info posted on their Web site, but you can get their phone number. I was told they're giving away a cash prize for first place.

Before I busted my Arse, we played against one of the teams, and got spanked seriously bad. You know you're in trouble when the opposing teams start calling plays ... "100 roll to the center" YIKES!!

By the way, anyone got a good definition of Novice?? One of the Refs said it's a team or players who've played in tournaments, but never been on a winning team. True??

WPF defines novice as people who have played in their first WPF less than 2 years ago. Rookie is someone who has not played in their first WPF event more than 1 year ago. Amatuer is everything else. It's all pretty vague

Hmmm ... WPF definitions, well, i guess that makes me a nobody!!

My team would probably go to that tourney at Thunderbay, Muck. You still interested in coming down to Hi-Tec to play some rec games?

definitely interested, but don't know when it will be. My doctor has sidelined me indefinitely ... Going to see a Orthopedic Specialist today. Hopefully they won't amputate my leg.

I hear those Proballs can be dangerous  No, Creek, I was trying to play hero. Me and this other guy were the last on our team, we were behind bunkers about 20 feet apart, but he was blind on his left side, I saw someone trying to flank that way, so I sprinted for a better bunker, to catch that guy before he could get behind us ... Well, I lost my balance while I was running and fell on my knees ... my right calve shot out at about a 40 degree angle to my leg and I heard this "POP." Well, I think I'd rather been shot in the knee by a Proball. Anyway, i tore some cartelidge in my knee and possibly damaged a ligament or tendon, and that's why i'm going to the Orthopedic guy today. And nah, I don't think they'll amputate. At least I hope not  !

Nah, u probably wont lose the leg. But expect the doctors to extract little Jimmy and his two round friends. Look at it this way Muck, now u wont have to worry about the uncomfortableness of your crouching positions. :D

Well Anti, they left Little Jimmy and his Two Best Friends alone, but the Ortho Knee Doctor said no more paintball until mid-April ... he musta saw the shocked look on my face, so he says, "You'll be able to handle that, right?"

And I says: "Not even if they prop me up against a standing bunker?"

And he says: "Nope!"

:D
So, I guess I'll be stockpiling paintballs and other vital necessities while I'm waiting and recuperating. Then, on that day around April 15 or so, I'll hit the field ... shoot everyone in sight ... and spray paint on every thing like a mad dog marking his territory.

Hey Anti, in case you don't get online tonight, Good Luck with the Tournament on Sunday ... Make sure to tell us all about it when you get a chance, and remember, if you don't wear a cup, use one hand to shoot and one hand to cover Little Jimmy!
