If your parents are being pooheads about you using their credit card, just send the company a money order, much easier without your parents having to know about it.

i think you have to be 18 to buy paintball stuff.

How exactly does a money order work? I don't have a credit card, so I've just relied on friends to order pb stuff for me over the phone/internet.

Get a job and get older! Getting a job would work for now though, if your too young set up a landscaping business (unless you live in the south west, all the mexicans took the former teenager jobs). Also, car wash business, House care business, etc. Do lots of those and you can actually make decent money for someone your age. How old are you anyways? It's sure cool to have your own money for once. It felt quite good to me.

My parents banned me from purchasing the fallowing (and using them)-

* Porn
* Drugs
* Alcohol
* Smokes
* Guns (illegally that is...they bought it with my cash)

Other than that, they didn't care. I learned responsible money handling because everything I did with my money was my fault or gain. That is why, if I ever do have a kid, I'll let him learn the way kids learn best: trial and error. I'll give suggestions, but not dictate.

So, tell your parents that they are not helping you, only hurting you by telling you how and when you can spend your own money. If it comes from your own labor, they should not dictate it's use (unless it's a family emergency, I think my dad still owes me $400.00).

As for MOs, you go to a store, say Harris Teeter, and tell the guys that you want a money order, they ask for how much, it's kinda like a check, and there's a tab that you can keep that allows you proof of writing it out.

no, i have the money. they just think it's an irrisponsible use of money to buy anything else for paintball and not, say, save for collage or something.

You go to a place like 7-11, or some grocery store, and you give them 20 bucks (assuming you want a money order of $20) plus $.50 - $3 and they print out a money order, and you go cash it in for 20 dollars at the bank. Usually people want money orders printed by Banks.

Just tell em that the one you have is worn out, and doesn't work right half the time.

even if they do, they will be careful because they dont want you buying somthing cheap. just tell them why you want it and be persistant.

i just bought an A-5 about 2 months ago and i had the same problem almost. I had been in paintball for about 2 years...but I stopped playing for about a year then started again this fall. I had bought my first gun (model 98) at the local pb field for a reasonable price at the time. Over the summer, I went on a huge EBAY craze and sold a bunch of stuff including my gun. I figured, Ill never play again, (I changed schools and the old pb guys i played with stopped calling me). Over the course of a few weeks in the fall the guys called me up and I started playing with them using their back-ups. I was using a pro-lite while they were using impys, mags, and cockers. Anyway, I decided to buy a new gun. My parents had no problem with it, but they had a problem with me spending $400+ on a new gun + accessories. My dad was like why dont u just get the same gun u had before, this is just a phase. Parents just dont understand how u progress and get new/better guns. I choose the A-5, because i wanted a gun that really didnt need many upgrades, wasnt electro, ran well on C02 and wasnt that much.
Anyway, my dad finally was like "your mom and me agreed that you're a good kid...blah blah blah (im 16 btw)" and they let me buy it....they paid for like a 100 dollars, but it was my part of my xmas present, but i was happy i got it. I guess my advice is to be persistant, but not be annoying. I could tell when my dad was getting annoyed with me and i just dropped the issue. Hopefully...they will give in and let u get the gun.

You parents have a good point.

Here is what I would do, which makes you look responsible and resonable to them-

Ask them if, say, you have $900.00. Tell that that you will put $200.00 into long-term investment where you can't touch it until that time has expired or you don't get your money doubled or whatever they would do with it (for a 15-year plan, they sometimes triple your money). You would still have a considerable amount of cash to buy a gun and your parents may be more supportive at that point.
