Valve and Hammer Maintenance

When i got my impy, everyone I asked said that i should clean my bolt after every day of play. But contrary to every faq ive read, Ive heard only to clean the Valve and Hammer after every 4 days of play. Is the faq just being overprotective, or is everyone i know just stupid?

I have heard from "supposed" impy experts (will not name any names) that you can go a few times without cleaning out the valve and bolt. Now these same people highly recommend that you do clean all that stuff out everday...i think they were just saying that to lazy people. Anyways, have you read wolverine's faq. Its hands down the best imp faq out there and he recommends maintanence after each day of play.

In conclusion, I think you would be some what ok without cleaning out the valve and hammer and stuff for a while, but it has been my experience to have more problems with my guns when I decide not to clean them religiously.

you can do it....its not that hard and the imp is pretty easy to tear down. Protect your investment...you won't be sorry.

are you talking a stock valve and a stock bolt? if so i recomend you lube your stock bolt after every day of play, and your stock valve every 4 days or so or play, maybe 3. its better just to get a delrin bolt from new designz or voodoo because they have no orings so you don't have to lube them. you can also get an after market valve from new designz and its great, you never have to lube it after you do it once. also, i'd lube up your hammer and ram assembly when you lube up your valve. use DOW 33 shocker lube. it may sound like your lubing alot but its better then having an oring go out.

What do I think? The reason I asked the question was because what you said earlier, made me think that you oiled it every day. So thats what im thinking, and you should be able to derive that from the earlier question. So, the reason I asked the question was to confirm or deny if you oiled every day or not. Can you please not be sarcastic and just answer my question? :|

I maintain my friend's impusle(he doesn't take care of it, so i ended up doing it for him out of pity)and I usually lube the hammer/valve every 2 or 3 games. It's been fielded like 10-20 times under my care, with no problems. I also 2nd the Dow 33 lube.

stock bolt should be lubbed everytime you play (before), i lub my valve/hammer like every 2-3 days of full play (i don't lube my hammer because i dont' have too NDHFV, but stock ones you do, same with my bolt, its better just to get a delrin bolt) soleniod (sp) should be lubbed like not very often at all and not sure when it should be but not too often. maxflo after a month of full play.
