Clean gun parts with alcohol??

I recently bought some KC Trouble Free Gun oil. It says, "Clean all gun parts with alcohol to remove old oil before using oil for the first time."
Should i do this or will it destroy my o-rings or something like that.

take your orings off you bolt, spray everything down, wipe it off shortly afterwards. It will be fine.

Always use alcohol to clean my stuff, especially paint in your barrel, cuts it so much better than water. I take a spray bottle of 3:1 alcohol/water with me to the field.

Yeah, cleaning the metal parts of your marker with alcolhol and water solution is good. It will remove the oil based paint out of you marker very well. The solution should not damage your orings, but remember to re oil the orings before you put everything back together again.
