Last time I was paintballing, I was overwhelmed by the site of a kid probally 10, 4 feet tall, with a tricked out cocker. Does this kid even know what he has? I guess its cool if your the kid but really, if your gonna start a kid off paintballing, give him like a spyder compact or somthing light and inexpensive. Oh well I'm just mad cause I could never afford a cocker in my life, and this kid gets one when he can barely even hold it upright. Letme know what you think.

I get kinda pissed when I see that too. Little 10 and 11 year olds with tricked cockers and angels. It's sad. Like you said, give the kid a compact or Tippmann, not a $600+ marker.

dont get mad at them. just show them how much better your spyder or tippmann or raptor etc. etc. is in your hands.

I gogged a 12 year old kid with an Angel once. It was his 3rd time playing. Mommy bought it for him.

i usually ask how many times the have been playing. i then take my raptor and either bunker them (1-5 times), backstab'm (6-10 times) or just whoop them in any way possible (11-15 times). of course, it sux when they know how to use that firepower. oh well, i still have fun :-)

like i understand, if the kid is 10, and has an angel, mommy got it for him. but take me, i've been playing about 4 months now, and am in the process of purchasing an impy, all outta my own wallet. now you gonna ridicule someone that is getting better and playing alot AND saving up for his own 'guns? just make sure to consider the situation first.. what i dont like is the rich-asses that show up for their first paintball game with an angel because their friend told them it was good, then who says they don't like paintball , because the angel was supposed to make them win, and throws it into a huge bin of discarded rich-toys.

the only ridicule that i'm making is that the 12 year old kid obviously didn't know what he was firing, he just knew that it was an expensive marker and his mom bought it for him. He got bunkered nearly every time, he never moved. Now if he were 12 and bought it on his own (saving his allowance whatever) then I'd have WAY more respect for him. He wanted to start off high then cool, he used his own money and knew what he was getting into.

Gotta agree with all of you. But still, if my mom offered to spend $1000 on my gun and gear, I'd say yes!!

Now that's the kinda attitude we gotta show the newer players.
I see alot of them at my field (a 9 yr old with an STO!!). I don't play rec ball often so I don't get a chance to observe their suckiness. BUT, one time I noticed a kid running through the staging area with his gun, he triped and accidently pulled the trigger. The safety wasn't in so he ended up shooting himself in the chest. He musta cried for 10 minutes! It was funny and shameful at the same time.

just make sure u guys dont crap on little kids with nice guns unless u know how they got it. I know young kids that have little jobs, like mowing and fixing up yards, and get good amounts of money. But most young kids that play do get there money from there parents, and are spoiled out of there mind. Still, there are some that arent.

Yup. Like i said, if they bought it on their own hey more power to them, but if they are spoiled out of their mind and had their parents buy whatever they thought looked the best then...

would a ten year old get 500+ bucks. if they have a nice gun, they should have been either playing a long time with a cheaper gun or on rentals. they have to be in to the sport. i have seen a kid who has never played go out and buy an angel. he told me he was gunna rule me cause he had a sweet gun (i still had the raptor). I bunkered him.

last time i played i saw a little kid that had a kapp cocker with a boomstick anoed to match and of course a nice nitro tank. he was playing with his mom and dad, they both play too, he was on his dads tourneys team. i think its cool that kids can have fun with the parents rather than be embarrased to be seen with there parents.

If all you guys are so pissed that he has a cocker and doesnt know what he's got...TELL HIM!!! Help the new kid out! Wish someone had done that for me when I started but I couldnt find a soul to help me out but the feild/store owner who just wanted me to buy stuff. I try to help as many kids as possible when im at the feild cuz I want them to feel included and not afraid cuz if they are like 10 they are afraid of getting hit and they have no idea whats gonna happen. Help the new kids, maybe they will sell u the cocker cheap when they get their Angel, lol.
if i saw a little spoiled kid that knows nothing about paintball with a angel id show him how good i am and blame it on my gun he will think wow i would be good with that gun and he would try to trade me my gun for the angel :D (i wish):)

Having a gun they dont know how to use, and help them>>? I dont think so. As said earlier, just get the kid a Tippmann or compact and he can f@#$ it up all he wants!

thats why i think brass eagle is important for the sport. they make lighter guns that are easier for younger plyers to carry. then when they get older they can get the better guns.

Come on guys!!
The kids are kids.
They always want things that is better than other..
You guys were kids once.. Remember???
Back to this marker thing.. If the parents want to buy for their kids expensive markers, I'm sure it's not the kid's fault. Who [in the right mind] won't want it anyway?
It's the adult that need to be more educated...

just get a real nice looking gun and make sure it looks really cool to a 10 year old. slap a few pokemon stickers on it and tell him to trade and say to him, "this is better tah your gun"

so if your parents were happy to see you into something positive and not doing drugs so they thought help you and offered to buy you a nice new gun, you guys wouldnt take it? anyone who says they wouldnt is lying because who wouldnt take a nice gun for free??

this post isnt about getting free guns from your parents, its about 10 year old who have guns that weigh half as much as they do.
