I have been playing for about 4 years now and just now have started playing indoor speedball at a local field. I still consider myself a newb but feel that I have outgrown my spyder and it is really holding me back. I want a marker that is reliable and easy to maintain. So far I have narrowed it down to:
03' vert cocker
automag RT(gotta try one and loved it
 )
BKO
used impy
used defiant ($350)

I like to play up front and weight is not a concern. I really don't want an electro but have heard good things about the BKO and impy's. What would keep me happy for at least a year and help me improve my game???

if you have nitrogen go with the automag rt. its the fastest mechanical marker in the world. defiants are sweet to.

well if you don't have HPA yet... you need to factor that in...

so... i say impulse...because those run perfectly on co2...

Good choices. The automag RT seems nice, but I've never shot one. An autococker is a also a very good choice, but some people have trouble maintaining them. The impulse sounds nice and they can run on anti-siphon C02, which isn't that expensive. Good luck. :)

I'd go with the automag RT as well, if you want a less expensive gun, you should look into used mags. You could get a nice package under 400$, with a couple barrels, HPA R/T valve and a nice hopper.

The RT mag, all the way baby!

However... you can NOT use Co2 in the RT mag, because of the shootUP. It expands so fast and recharges so quickly that CO2 pressures could easily cause your velocity to go through the roof and your next shot to go through someone's arm. :( Not good.

I say the RT if you got the HPA. Make sure you get the level ten too. If not get the Impy with vision. Either one will be great and you can upgrade them both some. But they are some fine choices. The reason I don't say the cocker is because if you are a front man you will have to fire fast on occasion and until you get used to it you will probably short stroke it for a while. It also doesn't get the ROF of the RT or the Impy. But good choices.

Impulse, Defiant, and RT are all great choices. It's been mentioned before, but the Impulse excels with CO2 and the RT doesn't work at all with CO2.

;) But the RT is a clearly superior gun! :) You can get higher Rates of fire w/ the RT than the Impy, since full-auto is not allowed, but RT is (as long as it doesn't go into runaway)

as people mentioned, the automag rt. it IS the fastest mech gun out there. it has the fastest valve in the industry, and its beautiful! the trigger is unmatched, and the upgrades are unsurpassed. so what if it doesnt run on co2?!?! you're probably going to end up getting nitro later on in life. i say start out with a cheap nitro system (70 dollar xfire) and slap it on an rt. you can get an anti chop bolt for 70 bucks (or if you buy used, it probably has that bolt on there already). the choice is up to you. make the right one.

If you have nitrogen get the defiatn 350 is a good price for one. If you dont have nitro get an impulse, and get an anti siphoned tank with it.

I am getting ready now to send off money for a used mag I found on automags.org

lv 10, 14 in boomie, 68/3000 tank

Thanks for your opinions.

BTW the deifent is messed up, apparently it needs a new silonoid or something but the guy didn't tell me, someone else who was gonna buy it did, they ended up backing out cause of ti.
