If this needs to be moved please do so
well, as some of u know ive finally got a team going, and we are hitting a few local tourneys plus im playing almost every weekend. I need a job, flat out.
But i play baseball, tryouts started today, and im debating weather or not to play. Practice 4 days a week with a game, and over the 2 brakes we may pull double days. Im gonna have no energy to play on the weekends, especially cause i play front.
On one hand, baseball is a good sport, it's for my school, i have fun with my friends and it looks good for colleges. But i have practice 3 hours a day after school, which means homework time is lessened on both times, more sleep and less time after school. It's extremely taxing on energy.
on the other hand i have paintball, I do like it, over all, more then baseball, id still be working out a few days after school but may be for an hour or two at most lifting waits etc. my team is going some where, we are starting to get more sponsors and play more tourneys. Id have time for a job which means money for tourney's new guns etc. if i can show a good team resume to a college for extracurricular activities showing that oh yea my team has hit these 5 tourney's and we've been moving up the ranks showing team work sportsmanship, ability to improve and stick with something. but then again it's not directly school related, it's costly, and dings my weekends allot. but o well.
im really looking at quiting baseball, i figure do it early to help the team.
any insight is thankful, and not to be really self centered, but i dun wanna here some bs story about what happened to u and then every one starts talking about that. This is a serious mater that id appreciate help on.

You need to look at a lot of things to answer that question. I played baseball pretty much my entire life. Double Headers 4 times a week and practice all the other days during the summers. You need to ask yourself. Are you good enough to play for college and do you want to play for college? BTW D1 athletes get all the ladies too. But thats besides the point. If you have a chance to go to a school for free I would take it if you love the sport. I didnt take my chance to play because I was young and dumb and didnt want to leave my girlfriend at the time. So now I spend all my time and energy on paintball. Hope this helps a little. Jason

na i don't want a girl (nor does she, i have a girl) who soaly likes me or becomes interested in me do to my athletics.
Im one of the smartest kids in my grade i just need to pull my grades up.
i mean any college that looks at sat's or if there was one that looked at them only id be in college 2 years ago.
and no i wouldn't play for college, i don't want my life dominated by this sport. It's a sport where the only improvement really is ur self, ebyond that it;s outa ur controle, while paintball u can switch so amny things up'
theres so much industry built around paintball now adays

i did wreslting and it took up my whole life for the 3-3 1/2 months
i only got to play 1 time, and that was 2 weeks ago
so keep that in mind, YOU WILL NOT PLAY
but wrestling is also a lot more nazi than baseball
6 practises a week, go till 7 at night, start at 2:50
and meets last 4-5 hours

Yeah I say ditch baseball if you dont want to play in college. I honestly see no point in playing HS ball if you dont want to play college. Then agian that is just me.

the way i see it is if you can make a difference on the team, then you should play. if you practice hard and never play, then i dont see a reason to continue, unless you really love the sport.

Getting a team together is the easy part. Keeping it together is the hard part. Like so many other things it will come down to what YOU as a person will want. Will you go to collage anyway (without baseball)? With baseball? How important is collage to you? Will you be able to actually play collage Bball? If you do, will you like it still? Collage ball is a lot different than H.S. ball. A lot more serious and time consuming from what I've been told. Does the collage you would like to goto have a paintball team? Could you get one going if they don't? Do you care? Will just come home and play? You gotta do what will make you happy in life. Will you be giving up a life long dream in anyway from either sport by not playing? Would you be giving up that dream because you're getting older and your interests have changed a little? Go with your first answers. They're the one that are usually right. Even if you do make a "wrong" choice there is nothing stopping you from changing your mind again. Personally I get more satisfaction playing paintball then any other sport. I'm just not the "jock" type. But hey, that's me, not you. You have to do what's right for you. We can all tell you what we think you should do, but would we be right?
Tough choice, as most are. Best of luck.

are the ganes on weekends? i say do both. if the games arent everyday on the weekends. school and sports are really easy to balance some people do better in school when they play sports. i play baseball too. my games on saturday and sunday each weekend for a couple months. so i wont be playing much pb may to end of june:( . but if weekends are free easy to do both

Honestly...you said you like paintball more that baseball? You already answered it yourself. When you choose what sports or activities you do, you choose what you enjoy, what is most fun because when you get old...these ARE your "good old days" (I wasted mine with a big mouth and attitude).

im afraid im going to have to make this same desicion next year:( , i really love paintball, but i have been playing baseball since i was liek 4, and its a family thing, my dad loves baseball, and he would really like me to keep playing, and i no im good enoguh for the highschool team, im also a really good basketball player, im sure i could be better but my parents dont stand behind me too much in basketball, like if i said my shooting is getting abd can i go to a camp, they would say well think abotu it, but if my hitting needed work then theyd get me a trainer, so i dont no, i cant decided, only time will tell:|

im faced with the same problem.... i just started a paintball team and weve played in 3 tournys at my field and placed 2nd twice and 3rd once... then on the other hand im sweet at baseball... im a frosh and i will be playing varsity... probally starting... and ive been told by more than ne person that i will probally get a free ride to atleast a d2 school.... i really love paintball... i think its a hell of alot more fun than baseball... but im gonna hold off on my paintball team until baseball season is over... that was my desicion... bc i still hold a job with playin baseball and that will give me enough time to save alot of money for tourny entry's and such when baseball is over.. and i also think baseball will give me more oppertunitys later in life then paintball will... i mean im not chris lasoya...
thats just my opinion
hope it helped

Well...given you're asking this on a paintball site, I think you know what we're all going to say. Really though, you love paintball, you like it more than baseball, and your chances of hitting it big in paintball are MUCH greater than baseball.....and when was the last time baseball feature custom milled and annod bats? That would be kinda cool though....
