I am a paintballer who is just getting over the whole getting hit "fear" which is good. now i play much more offensive and am getting more and more cks(confirmed...kills...) and i play at an indoor facility where i go with my friends. and its usually a kick @$$ time but lately these to spoiled brats are showing up with angels and bushys. and all we got are semi-autos. and all they do is set up shot and hail 200-400 rounds down these lanes and take us all out. does this happen to anyone else it really pisses me off.

Hmm depends, if they are good players and have played loads of times before and *deserve* an angel, then its OK, you just got to try hard to beat them. They dont usually keep the angel on full auto but fire in bursts.
If there kids that have only been twice and "mommy" and "daddy" have bought them an angel then that pisses me off. They dont know how to look after it, how to clean it on field or clean it out of games. They just spray and praY!

Well if they are shooting the lanes it sounds like they probably deserve their guns. Here is what you do you make sure that off the break you go to unusual bunkers that should 70 percent of the time create angles that they will not see and pick them off.

why cry about it? playing against them will make you a much better player.

Last time i played i saw a bunch of little kids with there dads. Most of them had angels. One kid was behind a bunker with my friend. Instead of shooting the kid is telling my friend his whole life story. I would've stole the kids gun and walked off. But i agree there are some little kids i saw that where around 13 and had some pretty high cost guns and equipment but they where tearin' it up. I think they deserve it. :)

The only people that deserve an expensive gun are the people who buy it themselves :P. Ohh and dont be one of those newbies that complain about the people with the tournament guns, how about you do something about it and bunker their ***!

ya im 16, which some ppl consider young on here. and i own a 2k1 vert feed cocker w/a few good upgrades, but i worked my as@ off to get it, and work even harder to pay for all the paint i now shoot.

you know what pisses me off is newbies that complain about kids having good guns...im fairly new to the sport and so are most of my friends and recently i (keyword I) bought a jt proteus mask and a spyder xtra and we play in the woods and they sit here and complain how im sum rich little ***** that gets everything handed to me but i have a job and i earn everything that i get (and i only spent 240) but it really pisses me off

07-24-2001, 05:52 PM
well i used to play with a spyder tl+ and kick autocockers, bushies, and whatever elses ***. sure i was scared a little but i just got way better and now that i got a pulse im just that much better for playing against those types of players with a low-end semi. Although i now have to work my *** of to pay for it and pay for the case of paint i shoot a day.:)
Letchworth40
07-24-2001, 06:21 PM
its not the damn gun. it helps though. i use my bushy then switch to a stock spyder one sometimes. i use less shots and have the same # of kills. but it always feels like somethings missing so i switch to the BUSHY!

Is there a problem w/ having them waste all their paint down the alleys ?
Just let them shoot the air :)

yea, i really hate it when second-time players have angels that their parents bought them. especially when their really cocky about it.
then again, it's pretty fun using a rental to nail their @ss after they've been talking smack, so it kinda balances itself out.

i dont care what guns people use. i play against angels and shockers all the time. then again, i play with spyders and piranhas all the time too. Stop complaining about what gun they use.
but i find it funny that this one kid (he was 11) at our field had a completly tricked out shocker. He told everyone that he payed for it all and he only saved up for 2 months. he sounds like a rich b@astard to me.

gee, when i play rec... and i see a little kid with an angel... that becomes my number 1 priority to take out first, everyone that gets in the way... are just a casualty in a game.
i own an angel, and bought with my own hard-earned cash from my job... and also a little help from my credit card. It took me 4 months to get back to the level of cash i once had before my angel.

ya often during games i have ran out of paint or co2, and charged kids and made them surrender w/out even pointing the gun at them, so i really dont think the gun makes all that much of a difference.

The good thing about the rich kids is you can make them piss their pants in fear. A friend of mine is 6'2" 250lbs of mostly muscle. He's a pretty intimidating guy. So me and him are playing at this indoor field when we find out we're the last two left against this group of 11-year-olds. We've got our Spyder TL+'s and all of them have cockers. My friend suddenly goes running down the field yelling his lungs out and we hear the ref yelling game over before we even fire a shot. Turns out the kids had broken paint on themselves and called themselves out!!

if someone is shooting a really good lane, then they aren't rich n00bs, n00bs just hide with their rich guns. guys with balls that do a lane, out in the open laying down paint for the team to win are actually good, dont cry because they shoot you. just learn.

Any one who even care what the other team is shooting is lame. And any one who sets up a firing lane is smart, and not a newbie. I just bought bushy, and i'm only 14, does that make me a rich little *******? No, i payed for it. I don't care what the opposition shoots, i care how they play, and if they play smart.

What kinda pisses me off is the assumption that anyone with a high end marker is a rich kid. My setup cost slightly over 2 and a half grand CDN and I'm not a rich kid. If I were rich I wouldnt have had to work 40 hours a week while going to school full time

wow your only 14 richy? anyway, i also am 16 and just got a tricked bushy, but before i had a spyder and i liked when people had nice guns because it was cool for me to see the guns (and sometimes they let me test shoot em) and it is good competition and i feel better when i take out someone with a nice cocker or angel ;)
my first time it was like the first 15 minutes of saving private ryan....but with no blood......and slower shots......but people were running and just unloading and you couldnt move two feet without 5 shots wizzing by your ear.....
There was this guy at the place with an autococker and a phamtom pump...he used the phamtom pump becuase no one else had a gun better than a sypder compact......he was wasting...and he hardly used any paint...I was scared about how good he would be with his autococker......
Then some little kids came in with their autocockers...so he gets his out....and it was scary....we only played one game with them, cause we had to leave....
But I was sort of pissed that those kids had their autocockers that they probably didnt put any money into....>and i was stuck with my rented pump....

I admittedly recieved a tippman model 98 for my last birthday. I also admittedly sold it for only a 25 dollar loss yesterday, and bought a tricked 2000 cocker for 320 this week. ITS SUPPOSED TO COME TOMORROW, and i paid for it with 100% my own money.
the best part is....when i sell it eventually, the money will be mine too...and i wont have to feel guilty....but im sure little 11 year olds with angels dont know what guilt is....they can keep getting a dark angel, selling it for 800 bucks...pocketing it and telling daddy they need a new one.
i hate rich kids.
now with my cocker i will be up there with the best guns on the field...i only hope i can keep up with it :)

Last saturday, this guy was selling a Vortex Autcocker, with a nice 114/4500 setup, 12vt revy, and a jt ize for $850.00, and some kid (12) who had just played his first game ever, had his dad buy it for him. Ive been playing for about 6 months with a pirahna, that i bought with my money, and have built up and fixed over and over again. So he loads up, and you know what happens? played back, hosed paint, and shot me in the back. So i started yelling at him in the staging are and he started to cry and his dad yelled at me. Next game, he got hit, and left. I hate the fact that here i am, with a crappy gun playing my heart out, and doin pretty well by the way, and some little punk who deserves a kick in the ***** gets his way.

i hate that...i have a few friends a year older than me, also into paintball but not as serious. they think i'm a spoiled kid cuz i've got an impulse and all that..they have sheridans, and spyders. but i don't doubt their ability. i don't think they're all that good, cuz all they do is play backyard ball. they wanted me to come and play some today, but i couldn't cuz i didn't have any air. then they think i'm spoiled cuz i have nitrogen instead of co2...and i can't find my other maxy to hook up a screw in tank. i'm 14 and worked my *** off for all the stuff i got. every bit of it was pure 100% my money. with an exeption of having a hudge paintball party and getting $100 outta my guests that i invited helped me out. now, i'm down to $0. figures...i need to get a job..but i can't get one legally (yet). man i wish i were 16.

I have a boo-yaah on my piranha. I had this dude with a camo angle pinned down in a game of hyperball. He tried crawling up the snake so I switch bunkers and tagged him in the side of the head when he popped up. He was asking me all kinds of questions after the game so I answered them and told him what I thought about it and he asked if I would trade guns for the next game. I whipped him with his own angle, it was cool. Ugly gun though, he put camo tape over all the chrome and on the barrel and the hopper, what a jerk!

Ok, here it goes...rambling time ;)
My parents have a lot money, but they do not pay for paintball, as I have a job. Just because someone has money doesn't mean they have everything handed to them on a silver platter.
Personally, I could care less what the person has for a set-up...because skill is the determining factor most times. After 4 years of playing paintball, I finally got a high end gun (mag)...most serious players will get theirs in a matter of a year or two after they start playing. In fact, most the time I don't have enough money to pay for paintballs during practice (on a team), so I use pump. Or I use my Alley Cat(stock). And let me tell you, I can still whoop up on people just the same with my stock Alley Cat...although pump is hard to use on sup-air ;)
And trust me, I don't give a flaying rat's pitute(LOL, sp?) if your rich or not, as long as your not an idiot. Respect others, and they will respect you. Simple as that.

Who cares man. Play paintball because you love the game. If someone has a better marker, there's no sence in getting upset over it
simon woodstock
08-27-2001, 05:01 PM
sometimes i dunno why people get all worked up about the markers other people are using. the only difference you'll realize coming from another persons marker is the amount of paintballs coming at you. you don't feel, if it's low pressure, you can't feel how light the trigger is, you can't feel how little kickback it has, you can't get hurt by the elcd screen, the ACE won't attack you. those are all things people pay for extra on their marker because paintball is important enough for them to spend that much money. but the only thing you can tell is different is the number of paintballs coming at you.
so if you're using a spyder and the opposition is using an angel, are you going to step out of the bunker inbetween paintballs? i mean in 2 seconds a spyder might get 12 balls in the air, and an angel might get 24+, but are you honestly gunna step out of your bunker during that 2 seconds if either marker has you on point?
just something to think about, i always thought it was cool that people w/ spyders and angels play on the same team and in many cases get the same number of eliminations.

Orgazmo
08-27-2001, 09:02 PM
First off, let me say, that i have no problem with people using good guns. It's the little punks who have hardly played, and rub it in your face that their gun is so good. Second, The piranha is a crappy gun. The first 2 months i owned it, it was at the factory. Came back, still didn't work, so i said screw it, and i went out and FORCED it to work, by investing MY money and time. Why should i have to work out a factory defect?!?!?! :eyes: :pissed:
SandStorm
08-28-2001, 04:21 PM
You probably got a lemon or something...it happens. Awhile after I got my Alley Cat it broke down and I tried to fix it...soon finding out from ICD it had a factory defect. ICD sent me a new one a week after it got to them. I have also seen many troublesome spyders, but nothing that can't be fixed easily. From my experiences, pirahnas are excellent guns. I have never seen one with serious troubles.

i had a real job at 14 . . .
i paid for my spyder, my parents covered a few expenses here and there as presents for good grades, etc.
total, ive put in about $400 into all of my paintball stuff. ive prolly paid for $300 of it.
i dont see why you guys complain so much. i am quite jealous of people with nice things (a lot of people that go to my school have nice new cars $20,000+ range that their parents bought them, i live just outside of a rich neighborhood). am i jealous, of course. but i am happy driving my '93 toyota camry station wagon that my parents are letting me use. it works fine for me, so does my spyder. they may not be the best things in the world, but they work and i am happy with them.

yeah, anyway, rich or not, they are kicking your butt. Why? Too much aggression. I'm not as aggressive as everyone else but I'm not a pansy either. When we play woodball, there are some guys with these guns that fire off like 14 rounds per second (I think it's the rainmaker) but who cares? They're still not better than me and my crew. Those dudes were shooting on our field and we played a game to get it back. The reason why the brats lost? B/c they were kind enough to reveal their locations. I'd thorw a rock and they'd shoot at the sound and I found them and they were dead before they heard the gun. That simple:
1) Observe the surroundings
2) Assess your position and options
3) Plan basics
4) Plan for contingencies
5) Execute

I have a spyder and proud of it...
i dont get why people put down spyders soo many times but for entry lvl players it's great
I've been playing for 2 years now and still use it
I do understand why people might get frustrated with the kids that just barely played the game that's like 12 years old and have a decked out angel... it's called jealousy but that goes away until that little brat comes up to you saying "I'll kick your but with my gun" that's when you flame up and want to pummel that kid to the dirt hehe

every time i go to my field without fail there are at least 3 little kids under 11 with cockers or higher. im damn tempted to knock em down and steal their guns.... but thats between me and the cops. anyways there was this little kid couldnt have been more than 11 with all the best gear, an STO cocker, jersey, expensive mask, nitro, all the stuff. here we are all joking about it when we go play spool ball. well we get pretty much his whole team out except him and some other guy, we were laughing when that kid lit the rest of us up, he was really good and deserved that gun even if his mommy bought it for him.

I just bought a B2K2 with my own money. I saw a few people snicker when they saw me at the field, but after i didn't get hit, and was right up front with them, they asked me to join them with team practice. I've payed for all of my stuff, and i take pride in the fact that i payed for it. I saw a kid with a Dark angel, 88/4500 armegeddon, CP barrel kit, JT pro power jersey, and STO cocker for a backup. He played in the back, and surrendered when a guy around him got out. I really dont mind he has the stuff, but he treats his gear like garbage. I get upset if my gun gets hit. Howerever, i hang out with a 8 year old with a tricked mini mag that can kick ***. His dad bought the gun, but he rips and is pretty cool. I always laugh when people point at him, then get hit by him.

Man, first game I played there were two little kids on the other team...I swear they have a huge advantage...they're such a small target, they can hide in places a full sized individual can't. I remember getting shot in the butt like 4 times from one of those kids. Anyway, the next time I've seen such a small kid on the field was in woods ball...he was on my team, I think he had a high end gun (I didn't check or ask, when I saw him we were on the field) and he ran out of paint on the last game of the day...and he was like, "what do we do now? (I was out of paint too) " I'm like... go for the flag or distract or something..." he said "no way! I don't want to get hit, I got hit once today already, and it really hurt"
I was like...dang man, I'd gotten hit every round except for like 2....mostly in the mask or gun, but still.
I suck at paintball. I'm new and learning, but I'm not afraid to admit I'm not particularly skilled at all. I usually pick stuff up quickly, especially things like video games and hand-eye coordination games like raquetball, but man, paintball is hard stuff.... I'm a horrible shot, and I don't think a new gun would even help me. I've had a clear shot on a friend that was unaware of my position from like 40 feet away and I missed him by like a foot. I guess what I'm trying to say is that yeah, guns don't mean too much, basic skill is always more important...so I don't get jealous that people have better guns than me, I get jealous of people that play better than me.

Who cares man. Play paintball because you love the game. If someone has a better marker, there's no sence in getting upset over it
Great way to put it.
Honest to god, isn't this mostly envy?
I'm not positive, but I didn't think you had to "deserve" what gun you shoot. When I see somebody at the gold course with a nice set of clubs playing in the sand, I just smile. If he has the money, and is willing to spend it, who am I to say that he can't? There aren't two matching clubs in my bag as far as brands go, and I wish I had the money for something better. But I don't get mad because this guy obviously sucks, but he has better clubs than I do.
If some kid can convince his dad to sink a few grand into a setup, let him. I wish he had a little more work ethic and morals enough not to let his parents pay for it, but it's not my place to decide whether he deserves it or not. When you're on the field, does it matter how much you (or whoever) paid for their setup? Nope. Only thing that matters is the skill they bring with them. A kid that isn't very good and is shooting a Stingray gets judged the same as a kid that isn't very good and is shooting an Angel, at least by me. I don't get mad, thinking that he doesn't deserve to have an Angel because he isn't skilled enough in my eyes. All I think is "Well, at least he won't ever feel the need to upgrade to a different marker."
Actually, come to think of it, I wish I would have started paintball by buying everything I have right now (if it were made then, I mean). Would have saved me a lot of time and money over the years. Would I have been labeled as "rich"? Maybe. Is it true? Nope. Would I care? Doubt it.
And to whoever said something about a kids dad buying his son five Darks: Liar

I'm only 14, and i'm saving up for my Flee Flow 'cocker with a whole shiznit of upgrades:D. I've been playing for a year now. I've been to nearly every big game there has been in Finland. I've played once or twice a week against shockers & imps. I think my skill level deserves a nice marker now. I'm paying for everything myself, thru jobs, birthdays & christmas.
I have to agree with Richy_C. Just because you see a 14 year old with a nice marker, doesn't mean he's a damn rich kid. Just think how much work he might of done, to get that marker. But I do hate kids my age with Angels that their dads bough them :P.
