i know your all excited about playing for the first time, at least i was :)...

1) dont be afraid to get hit... it stings for like 2 seconds then goes away... sometimes you dont feel it at all until a teammate tells you.

2) go get lit up early so you wont be hiding and being afraid which ruins your game

3) dont be to mad that you cant get anybody out, you will eventually.

4) hang around with the "experienced" people on your team when playing, they will help you hopefully... also you will probably stay in the game longer.

Go out for fun. Don't be afraid of getting hit at all. And always assume that you will win and hit them. If you don't hit anyone, don't worry. I bet you'll still have fun! Here are a couple tips though.

- Hang out w/ who you are going with.... I wouldn't try to hang out w/ the other "experienced player groups".
- Learn from your teammates.... don't be afraid to ask questions
- Shoot from the sides of bunkers and not over the top (more of a chance of being seen and getting hit)
- Don't take your mask off at all on the field ;)

I never played ata public field when I was new, but I do remember my biggest concern revolved around being shot. First, I was worried about the pain. Don't be. I now play in shorts and sandals and a mesh tanktop (or no shirt at all). The worst that can happen is you get a welt that bleeds... I guess it's feasible that it could even scar, but if it did, it'd be a pretty good story to tell around the campfire.

THe second part was the pride associated with being shot. I hesistated alot for a while because I took it as some personal insult that I got tagged. Forget that. Now I play ultra-aggro and am willing to get myself covered for a key elimination. If I were you, I would focus on getting atleast one tag over the course of the first day. Take the chances to do so--after the first one, the rest come so much easier.

Hang out with the better people on your team and get them to guide you through.
Don't stay behind the same bunker, Move around a lot newer players are scared to get hit or something and hide behind the same bunker just move what could happen you get shot? You'll get shot if you don't move anyway and it'll hurt more since your being bunkered.
Have fun.
Don't be scared to get hit.
Shoot out the side of the bunker, and try shooting out both sides of the bunkers not just 1 side.

First I'll move this to the newbie forum.

Second you can come over to my house & I'll lite ya up a half dozen times & you'll get an idea how much it hurts & for how long vs how close I stand while pummeling you with paint! j/k

Believe me you won't feel it! You'll be so pumped about playing , you'll become like superman! :D

i remember being more worried that i would suck or that i would be scared to move. But i definitely got bunkered in my very first game ever so i kinda got over the fear of being hit real fast.

I remember the first couple times I played I was really scared of getting hit, so I hid behind the same bunker for the whole game. Eventually I got lit up, and realized it's not so bad. Basically what I'm trying to say is, just try to not be afraid of getting hit, and you'll have much more fun

You might expect to have fun, get made fun of, and get bunkered about a dozen times

Ah...the good ol' days. Memories. I was so nervous the first time I played.
Don't worry about getting hit. Not as big of a deal as you would think. The first time I got hit I was like "I was nervous over this!?" I just laughed at myself. Don't be afraid to move around. Watch where you're shooting. Don't just throw mad amounts of paint in the air. (unless you're a back player)
Anyway... just have fun!! That's what it's all about. You're not playing for mad amounts of cash and prizes so just have a good time. Watch the other games and watch what the players do. If someone does something that seems weird to you go find them and ask. 9 times out of 10 they'll tell you. Watch, ask, and learn. And have fun!!!! Good luck.

1. have fun
2. dont think about getting hit as long as your moving and having fun you wont really notice it(unless there 3 feet away)
3. listen to the ref/guide
4. keep moving while you play dont stay in the same spot the whole game
5. When hit yell it hand put ur hands in the air or your just going to be bombarded with paint

It feels like having your innards carved out with a cold spoon. No...more like having a limb sawed off with a jagged steak knife. Or maybe more like getting a heart transplant...without any drugs.

No, seriously, watch some pro footage, the guys get shot from about 2 feet away, and they get up and walk off like nothing happened. If they can do it, so cn you. it's a little round ball of paint....think about it, it might sting but it ain't gonna kill you.
And the best way to keep from getting that sting is to shoot the other guy. The harder and better you play, the less you get shot, and the more you worry about getting shot, the worse you'll play.

one thing i found first time i played was i was a bit trigger happy...
trying to hit anything that stuck out from behind a tree.. even show lace

with site guns, i recommend being patient and waiting till you have something worthy of shooting at as they aint usually that accurate
