I've watched many professional matches (THANK YOU PIGTV) and i observed that when the pros reload, they just toss their pods on the ground. well this is smart because it takes a while for you to put the empty pod back in your pack and you dont really need an empty pod anyway.. i was just wondering, do they collect all their pods at the end of the match? or do they just set them down until they can get cover to put them back in their pack. or do they put them away when they are gonna move places

i was just wondering
thanks

I would assume that they pick them back up. I usually throw mine on the ground and then pick them up after the game.

that is so true most people throw on the ground and pick them up later. walk on players don't. unless they wanna lose there pods.

but do they pick them up after the whole game is over? or do they pick them up when they are tagged out? or do they pick them back up when they move places?

i usually shoot until i have cover from my teammates, then i put them back in my pack..i have speedpods..and someone woould steal those in a second

i guess i just wondered if the pros pick them up after the game or if they actually pick them up when they move

Yeah, but i suppose, but they are so heavily sponsered that i don't think they would need to if they didn't want, but after the whole game, they do pick up

good point. i wish i was sponsored so much like them that i could leave 4 eight dollar speedpods behind. BAH PROS!!

i think they do it to save time
there games are timed so i would do it if i was soposored and didnt care about them

Never get your pods when you're eliminated! That's jus bad...GO RIGHT TO THE DEAD BOX, or get a penalty :)

You mean like we got penalties? I'm no pro though I think I may classify as an Am player after we played the "Sandbagged Novice Division when we shoulda been playing Rookie". Sorry, just bittter. Anyhow, in all the tourneys I've played, we toss em and pick em up after the game. That is unless a player from Complete Paintball steals it from ya first. Jack@sses (sorry, more biterness)

I have been to 2 tourneys where they had "community" pods. The host of the tuorney supplied them, if the players had their pack, the would "rent them". no personal pods were allowed, and after each game, they had staff pick up the pods and go fill them, then, when you were about to enter the field for the next game, they had a pod station. you told them how many and they gave them. Entry fee was 350 a team, but paint was free. it was actually a VERY good system.

Those guys were such losers. Glad they didnt make the finals. Not as glad as if there staging area tent collapsed on them and sent em all to the hospital, but still pretty glad

I think he must ahve gotten confused and thought he reloaded on our end of the field while bunkering someone, and it must have been his pod. Stupid sh-thead

I would throw an angel on the ground when it ran out of nitro. I'd might pick it up later maybe but my sponcer would just have a new one ready.

Some guy threw his angel today. I was like "that pisses off all poor people like me!!!" I don't blame him though people were coaching so badly against him so he got so done

People at my field throw the pod close to the net, we've only had one pod snatcher so it's all good. They pick them up after the game usually. No use for putting it back in the harness if it's empty.

Which "guys" are you talking about? Were some guys from completpaintball.com there?

elTwitcho

pros throws their pods on the ground and after the game they pick it up. If you're sponsored, the guys back at your tent usually have pods ready for your next game, as well as filling up your tank of air. so to them it really doesn't matter, but most of them do pick it up, as i will explain later. while, less unfornate people mainly all of us have to because we have to hurry up refill pods with paint, and hurry up, get in line to have your tank refilled. While, your waiting in line you clean your barrel, bolt, breech, and gun of all the hits, and wipe off all the hits on your clothes - so you can get ready for the next game. Now, back to the pods issue... pros pick it up, why? because pods cost money... and every player don't want to waste money on buying more pods... but on the other hand, the supply guy usually have a couple boxes of new pods waiting to be used. not to mention almost all pro teams have backup in markers, hoppers, clothes, air systems, tools, accessories, and related stuff.

Some tournaments don't allow you to throw your pods farther than 3 feet from where your shooting with out getting points deducted.

Also I see rec players throw tubes all the time and they never pick them up at my field. SOME ARE THE CHROME ONES!!!

my cousin is a ref and when the pro teams play or pracitce they just leave em there so he has a billion pods he gathers at the end of each day.

AllOleander
07-17-2001, 09:43 AM
Sweet, does he sell them?

You could make like a 100 dollars a day if you did that.

I was watching the tour de France today and this topic reminds me of them throwing there water bottles. Each team gets 3,000 water bottles and each teams uses about 130 water bottles each day, after they get a sip of water then they throw it(usually there is still water in it) into the crowd and the crowd fights over it like a fly ball at a baseball park. just thought i might ad that

In the 3 man you could throw the pods anywhere you wanted, and i saw a few people throw their pods at players on the opposing team :)

sounds like avalanche... throwing their guppies on the ground after being eliminated, or throw their harness in the air after losing a game, or throwing guppies to the opposing players.
