Does anyone here besides myself think that paintball should and will be considered in the worldwide sports of Olympics? Well that is if they already haven’t approved of it. Or did they? I believe the game of paintball is a sport. Some people believe that paintball is a game. In the real world a sport is a game. Football for instance, it is a sport but you go to the game to watch. See what I mean. I think paintball is a respectful sport at times. It gives something for youths, fathers and sons, friends, families, anti drug programs, and even educational purposes. I say if they have target shooting compactions in the Olympics they should have paintball.

Say how would you be able to contact an Olympic official and convince them to have paintball in the Olympics? How about starting up a poll. I think I am going to do that. Maybe even a petition.

Talked to Bill Garnder(smart parts) he said it missed by a few votes last time, but on the upcoming one it should pass. Also x-ball will be the way it is played. I will get more of the interview if needed.

yep you pretty much nailed it. Xball is supposed to be more spectator and TV friendly, so i guess that is how it will be played when it reaches the olympics.
Personally I hate Xball, but I guess it can really help this sport of ours if they do well with it. But a lot of people are saying it can fall flat on its face and hurt paintball.

xball? I dont think so. Xball is a very new format, they arent even sure if they can keep it going yet. I think (correct if im wrong) but so far the xball format has only been used for two tournaments, nations cup the day after the world cup, in disney's wide world of sports. the nations cup turned out a lot better than the disney one, they werent very well prepared for it. One "game" of xball (actually a lot of games put together) will last about 1 hour 45 minutes, 2 hours max. But I heard of one game lasting 3 hours.
Not many teams are going to play in xball right now, lots dropped out because it basically slaughters everything they have put into making their team work together, and they have to pay to do it (its expensive). 10 man definitely has more teamwork required, many calculated moves. Its like a chess game or something. 5 man is more for the individually skilled and instinctive play.
What really sucks is mismatches, when you get a really good team against a sucky team. And you have to sit there and watch the sucky team get their butts handed to themselves for about 2 hours. This was seen in the Team USA vs Team Germany game, usa scored 21 times in a 3 hour massacre.
not making any of this up, im reading most of it from an issue of P8nt right here beside me.

I got the interview right here I can paraphrase it if needed.
And I quote "and I belive that x-ball format will take paintball to the olympics." bill garnder.
I am not saying you are wrong, but this is what i heard from the man who helped write the NPPL rule book.
