I'm wondering if I should buy:
a used Tippmann 98 w/flatline
or for the same price
a brand new Tippmann 98 with out flatline.
This will be my first Gun please help me decide.
come on man...this is a stupid question???
What kind of condition is the used gun in???
Do you want the Flatline barrel? it's not for everyone
If the used gun is in good condition and you like the barrel than buy it of course!!!!

I wouldn't get any of them I'd get the M98 Custom from tippmann. It's easier to upgrade than the M98 and it cost the same price as the M98 (i bout mine at xpaintball.com they were pretty good their). And for the flatline I would read the reviews of this page because I HEARD that it shoots far but its not that accurate.
I do own the M98 custom it is my first gun. I like it alot for a first gun and later on if you want you can upgrade it to the electric kit or you can just get another gun.

I had the Flatline and it was accurate with marbs. Maybe they had the wrong paint or did't have the Flatline on straight. The custom is a better gun.

neither, dont get any thing thats made from tippmann, its all crap and youll be regreting it. the tippmann model 98 when taken apart splits in two and is a ***** to put back together. it has small internals so loosing parts prevents you from playing. go with a spyder for your first gun, either a spyder compact, or a spyder 2000. i recomend personaly a spyder tl plus.

If Tippmann is crap why do most of the fields use them? It's not price or they would use a SPYDER compact! When I had my 98 it was easy for me to take apart and and put back together. I guess your hands just have to be able to work with your brain!

Man don't bash him for asking others opinions he's a newbie
ever since you have come on this board you have been rude obnoxious and annoying chill on him and let him be.... Geez
anyhow I would say go with the used gun w/ the flatline make sure you ask the seller if the gun is in good condition no stripped threads on the gun or and missing or damaged parts scratches on the gun and or inside the barrel
but if you are getting a used gun and it will out perform a new gun for less or relatively the same money I'd say go for it!
