I was just wondering why everyone is so against wearing Camo? and they say its for newbies? Ive been playing 3 years and I still wear it.
Its makes it easier to sneak up on people, and if you say that its cheap because your making it easier for yourself thats B/S because you all buy performance parts to make your game easier. So either accept you are a hypocrite or give me a REASON why its for newbies.

I apologize to all the people who don't have their guns upgraded and like a challenge.

the lst time i play woodsball, i walked up right behind some one well i crawled right up next to him in a bright red jersey and shot him

It's for newbies because only newbies would waste time crawling around in the woods when they could be playing in an open field.

That and the fact that it's better to be fast and bunkering than slow and sneaky.

Well, I personally have nothin' against it, however camo only gives you that split second before someone knows you're there...well really depends on how close you are...but yeah it's all good:D

GI camouflage, aka fatigues, are wonderful for several reasons:

1) They offer concealment if you play even close to a mixture.

2) They are durable, I have a pair I wore for hiking and camping (and I do not exactly live easy with them) and they are still chugging along beautifully, only minor tear here or there along the joint areas but barely noticeable...

3) They are designed to allow the breathing of the body and to prevent dehydration by allowing air into the uniform to "cool" the body...if you haven't had this effect then you have missized your top and bottoms.

4) To me, they are comfortable...I carry medical gear (abndages and so forth) out to the local field sometimes but always to the private land where I play, mainly because there are snakes and what not and those first second can be crucial.

I don't think there is anything WRONG with camouflage, it is all personal preference and even outside of its ability to conceal there are a variety of other reasons (as stated above) that can enable it to be a functional part of your game.

I don't think there's anything WRONG with them, but I do think they look unprofessional on a speedball field. If you show up to an airball field in camos, most camo wearers will agree, there's something wrong. Woodsball...well heck, wear whatever the heck you want. Let it be known nudity offers little protection when being bunkered though.

Camo's are fine, there is nothing wrong with them. I've been playing for about 10 years and I always wear them. Probably because I like snekaing around and camping, it really helps to break up my outline.

I play woods mostly, I don't really like speedball but that's a personal preference. I'm not knocking it!

"It's for newbies because only newbies would waste time crawling around in the woods when they could be playing in an open field."

That makes no sense whatsoever. So you're saying we should all sit out in the middle of an open field to play? I don't think so, I like hiding and sniping at close range.

I've invented two camo suits for use in speedball:

Hyper Snyper Stealth Movement System a large plastic corrugated pipe with arm holes, leg holes and a view slot ... perfect for being sneaky on the Hyper Ball Field.

Sup-Air Sniper Stealth Movement System an inflatable suit with arm holes, leg holes and mesh view panel. The Sup-Air Sniper suit comes in two versions; Dorito and Rocket.

Hyper Snyper and Sup-Air Sniper Stealth Movement Systems are registered Trademarks of MuckRaker Global Corp., Inc., any infringement on these copyrights will result in a severe Pimp Slapping to the Curb.

i was playing woodsball with my freind and my bro, it was free for all, and i was creeping around the woods and i looked and thot i saw a BFI trash can, i was like "WTF?" and it starts shootin at me. after i told him he looked like a trash can, he goes inside and comes out lookin like a wookie. his dad hunts so he has tons of camo.

If you're good, you don't need camo. You can hide just as effectively in a black t-shirt and black pants. I know from experience.

You know what the most effective camo is? Don't move a muscle when you're hiding! Movement gives you away more than a bright shirt.

Camo = PERFECT for woodsball
Camo = funny lookin for speedball

But, who cares if you wear camo on a speedball field. It doesn't make you a newb. Remember, it's how they play that counts.... not what they look like or wear. :)

Why exactly is this such a big deal to most of the people on the boards? Are you really so worried that some psycho islamic fundementalist will be a the PB field and mistake you for an American Soldier? (don't bet on it) I was in the Army for 5 years, most of the guys I work were in the Army for 4-10 years, we wear our old BDU's when we go paintballing together. I'm thinking about going to a surplus store and getting some new BDU's just for more paintball fun.

Besides, I can't speak for anyone else here, but I can't justify spending 50-60 bucks for dye pants, and another 30-40 bucks for the shirts. You can go to walmart and get cammo clothes for half that, or even less. You're going out to get covered in paint, dirt, mud, whatever the field is on, not to a fashion show.

Paintball will not be to militant till someone makes a marker that looks like an M-60. When you see one like that let me know.

Well lemme tell u a story... We were @ our base (this was in a senario (sp?)) and this guy was covered in pine tree branches.. and we could not see him, and this guy with a rifle scope (wtf does he need that for) said he couldn't see the guy, then he was like. wait! i see his hand! so that how we knew he was still there.. if he was wearing gloves.. he prob wouldda gunned us all

I don't like woodsball, or camo or anything like that, but one thing that pisses me off is when I see people goin around in camos waling or just crouching there as if its like when you put them on, you go invisible. PLEASE, if you must wear camos, learn how to use them.

It's a personal preference thing really. I like them because I don't need to worry about getting anything else I own dirty. I know guys who play in coveralls which I think is one of the best things for complete coverage.

As for the BDU's giving paintball a military image, well... think about the history of paintball. I don't know how many people here have played as long as I have, but we used to call it "wargames" and the markers were "guns". Anyone here remember that? Or was that just specific to my geographical location 10-odd years ago?

I say wear what you want. I have JT 2003 toruny pants and TJ 2002 premier flame jeresey. But I also have a Unique 4+1 camo harness. Although it does look rather odd, It works. I dont have to worry about finding paintball clothes before a game now. Oh, and the fact the harness only cost me 15 bucks from a friend helps.

islamic fundamentalist

niromoose, that statemnet is derogatory and could be found offensive to muslims...like me. i dont take a huge offense out o it, but i would appreciate it if you would change that. Just say a psycho or something.

and as for the part about the M-60, take a stroll to the custom guns. there are guns that are 1:1 replicas of real guns, and actually eject shell casings when fired.

Well I think it was on this site that there was a poll a while back and I think over 90% of the people on the site played speedball, but lately theres been a rush of newbies that play in there back yard, war camo and wanna play "sniper."

I don't agree with it because when the public sees people playing decked in camo there gonna think paintball is a war-simulation and we're all paramilitairy weirdos. Of course some people are like that, I don't get why but I'm no psychologist.

Well, getting back to the original question, I think camo is seen as newbie garb because when most people first play, they primarily play woodsball, in which camo is perfectly fine, and also as it is their first time, are probably (and hopefully) not outfited in a paintball jersey and pants. So really, nothing is wrong with camo for woodsball, but in speedball and tournaments it is nice to have something lighter, more breathable, and of course, better looking (looks being the key to success).

I don't think there's anything wrong with camo..I personally wear black BDUs because
a)they have lots of pockets
b)they're very rugged
c)I wear them sepratly as street clothes..I'm actually wearing the pants right now.

Leb,
Sorry if I upset you, or anyother muslems here. I used the Islamic fundamentlist example beacuse those would be the most likely people to be taking pot shots at military ppl att.

Guess from now on I'll just use suicidal waco from "insert international terror group o' the week here" so as not to upset an entire religon, but rather a specific group of wacos....Let's see, next week it will be...The Montana Millita.

I have black BDU's i use for woodsball and scenario games. But i also have "tournament" clothes, like a 60 dollar jersey. Each one is best for its respective environment. Itd be pretty stupid to be wearing bright red around the forest, and also pretty stupid to be wearing forest camo in a brightly colored airball field.

Oh and nitromoose, check out www.rustyspaintballgear.com for m60s and other assorted replica guns. they exist. its true. and oh so cool.
